Chapter 9: The Betrayal Part 3

Two Hours Before the Coronation

Addy

I was in my wolf form racing back to the castle after doing the ritual, I knew this would work and I would save their lives if not their home. I arrived and was in time to go and change into the dress I was to attend the Coronation in, as Erik made sure that I was to wear it. He wanted everyone to know I was his and show my neck displaying his mark. My parents are safe in the castle as he promised, they don’t know about the dangers ahead and the deal I had made, I gave them the wristbands and told them to keep them on at all costs. I walked into the room as the elders were in their place and Erik smiled at me and I smiled back, he linked me, "You look beautiful my love," I bowed and linked him back, "Thank you, the dress is lovely." My dress was off-shoulder, a slender wine-red dress with a trail on the ground looking like royalty. We did a martial ceremony with the elders and Aiden’s blessing before the Coronation, I am officially Erik’s mate and wife. It was time and Aidan bowed and kneeled, I started my spell sealing, Tyrell, Drax, and Aidan together, there was a slight burn but nothing to cause an alarm. I was confident this would work, and so it began as men came forward and drew their swords. Roman started to laugh as Lora, Danielle, and Lily were dragged into the throne room and forced to kneel.

Amon

"Aidan, we the council have voted and we will remove you as our King," I started to speak, Aidan asked, "What are you doing, Amon?" Roman laughed and explained what they had been planning for a while, he told them, "I found out my father wasn’t my real father and the Rogue King was my mother’s true mate, she chose that Beta that raised me and abused me because this Kingdom refused to work with rogues who, I might add, came in handy. They are slaughtering those who refuse to bend a knee to their new King, as you can hear the screams going on outside." The shock on their faces as the chains were placed on them as they were weak, and they couldn’t change into their wolves.

Tyrell looked at Addy and yelled, "You b***h, you did this to us, making us weak," before spitting at her feet, Erik slapped him and said, "How dare you disrespect, my wife?" Ty just laughed his evil laugh and said, "See you all in hell," Addy started crying as they slit Ty's throat in front of her. Drax was about to move and said, "We will end all of you and your bloodlines, no one is safe," before his throat was cut as well. Lora felt the bond break and screamed this earth-shattering scream before passing out. We looked at Aidan and said, "Any last words." Aidan spat at my feet before I signaled to kill him, and Lily yelled, "Stop!" and I turned to her as she said, "Wait! Please."

Aidan

As I listened to my former best friend I was in shock at how he could betray us like that, I couldn’t link him or feel my wolf and I know the others felt the same as we looked at each other confused. Ty was in turmoil, staring at Addy with pure hatred and I realized she did this to us with our blood, she had betrayed us along with everyone else in this room. When Roman told us that his father was the Rogue King, I was in shock, it all made sense about his distant behavior as of late, I executed him a few years after the war, how did I not know this? I heard Lily calling my name but we were held in place so I couldn't look at her, I wanted to comfort her but I was weak and couldn’t mind-link with anyone. My powers were gone and so was my wolf. I heard Ty yell, "You b***h! You did this to us, making us weak," I looked at her but she turned away from us crying.

Drax was staring at everyone, marking their faces, he has a photographic memory, and this will come in handy when and if we get out of this, it will be their heads, all of them. I felt my bond with Ty break as they killed him, he was loyal to me and didn't deserve this, and neither did Drax. I tried to move, my tears were falling at this point because I knew this was the end, and if given the chance I would kill every last one of them. Roman had betrayed us all, Lily was yelling, "Don't kill him, please." Those bastards slit his throat and I could smell the blood, Drax tried to get up and they quickly killed him also, Lora screamed before I couldn't hear her voice anymore. This was it, this is how my life ended, but I vowed to the moon goddess that I would get my revenge.

Lily

I was in the dressing room waiting for someone to escort me to the throne room where my marriage would take place, and my coronation before being marked on the balcony in front of the kingdom. Danielle was telling me what a beautiful bride I was and Lora agreed with the omega who was there to help us with anything while we waited. I was excited but my wolf was uneasy, I asked her, "What’s wrong, Adina?" She said, "I don’t know but something is about to happen." Danielle was also uneasy from early this morning, telling me something was off. The Palace was quiet before we heard screams and people running down the hall. Lora got up and opened the door before guards barged into the room, we wanted to change into our wolves and defend ourselves but realized that, we couldn’t feel our wolves. Drogo walked in chanting a spell and then we were dragged out to the throne room, Lora yelled, "What’s going on?" I was scared, I could not mind-link Aidan or my family.

After reaching the throne room, Aidan and the others were on their knees with knives to their necks and other guards were on their knees. I was at a loss as to what was happening, Danielle was scared and wanted to flee, but we were held in place. I didn’t hear much of what was being said but it was clear Roman betrayed us, he looked at me with lust and I felt cold. I saw Ty and Drax being killed before Lora screamed and passed out in a guard's hand. Aidan was next so I did the only thing I could do and yelled, "Stop!" Getting their attention, and said, "Wait! Please." Roman stopped them, slowly walked to me, and asked, "Why should we listen to you?" I told him, "Please, spare him and I will do anything," Roman smirked and said, "Become my queen and I will spare him," I agreed to become his queen, but he signaled to kill him anyway. I watched as they slit Aidan’s throat, I screamed as the bond broke, and Danielle was screaming before Amon ordered them to take her to his chambers. I was given this drink to stop the pain so I wouldn’t pass out and I vowed to the moon goddess that I would avenge Aidan.

Roman

When Lily agreed to be my Queen, I was delighted, but I could not let Aidan live, he had a legitimate right to the throne, and we couldn't allow him to live. I am sorry that I had to kill my childhood friends, but they were loyal to the throne and Aidan and would never bend a knee to me. I ordered the place to be cleaned up and the bodies carried to the tomb, after the throne room was clean, the Elders did the martial ceremony with Lily and me. She cried but played her part well and then we were crowned King and Queen as the blood moon rose high in the sky. We walked over to the balcony, marked each other for those to see, and the Elders introduced us as the new Alpha King and Luna Queen. Members of the council who were loyal to Aiden bent their knees in support to save their families.
