Sandy and Maggy gave custody of twin boys under Kericho hospital
The director and the team of doctors were on a routine check-up after every week to examine the state of the patients in all Kericho hospital wards, for them to allow those who have recovered to go and recuperate at home while others who are just been admitted get space to be admitted.
Maggy and Sandy were already in the incubator,s room checking on the twin children the twin boys had only a day to be released in the incubator to be taken care of since they have matured enough and they could survive on their own.
"Director and the team of doctors are going round the hospital wards checking on patients," Maggy said.
"It means they are soon going to be here," Sandy said
"Remember tomorrow is the day when then twin is going to be out of the incubator," Maggy said.
"Yes, l wonder who is going to take the custody of the children?" Sandy asked.
"We are going to suggest taking care under the custody of the hospital" Maggy suggested.
"That is a good idea I hope any of the doctors do not have any interest to take custody of the twin," Maggy said sadly
"But remember we are going to be given the priority we've nursed them since they were premature" Sandy retorted.
"That's true we are going to be given the priority," Maggy said in excitement.
Sandy moved closer to the incubator she observed closely the two twins she realized one of the twins has a spot on his right eye Maggy didn't realize what Sandy was observing.
"If we are given the custody of the children am going to take you I already know that you have a spot on your right eye," Sandy said to one of the twins.
There was a knock on the door sandy and Maggy to their position quickly.
"The door is not locked come on in," Sandy said. The Director and the team of doctors came into the incubation room to check on the twin babies. They surrounded the incubator and examined the twin babies.
"You too did a marvelous job the babies are healthy and they are going to be out of the incubator tomorrow," The doctor said
Other doctors clapped their hands to congratulate the doctor and his team with the two nurses for a great job of naturing twins in an incubator.
"What prompted the use of an incubator?" John the administrator asked the doctor.
"Babies were born extremely early they did not have time to develop fat just under the skin and will need help to keep themselves warm and toasty," The doctor said
Premature birth, Babies born prematurely may need additional time to develop their lungs and other vital organs. Their eyes and eardrums may be so sensitive that normal light and sound would cause permanent damage to these organs" He added
"Breathing issues, sometimes babies will have fluid or meconium in their lungs. This can lead to infections and an inability to breathe well. Newborns may also have immature, not fully developed lungs that require monitoring and extra oxygen" The doctor explained further.
"Maggy and sandy you did a marvelous job congratulations we will recognize you during the hospital's annual general meeting," Director said.
"There is an elephant in the room who is going to adopt the children since nobody has come to claim them?" Director asked
"Oh let me call a hospital lawyer I had already explained to him," Director said.
"I don't like the idea of being taken to the orphanage, they can disappear and I don't like the court Battle" Doctor said sadly
"Me too," Director said as he called the hospital lawyer using his phone.
The lawyer came in he realized that all the doctors and hospital administration were there he had documents on his file ready for any decision to arrive concerning the twin babies' custody.
"What are we going to do regarding the custody of the twin babies?" Director asked
"How about taking them to the orphanage?" Lawyer asked.
"I don't like that idea if the twin got lost in the orphanage and their parents emerged we are in dip trouble," Director said
"How about the idea of the hospital taking care of the twin under the custody of the hospital?" Lawyer inquired
"Yes, but who is Willing amongst our staff?" Director asked
"We are willing," Sandy and Maggy said
"Are you sure?" Director asked
"Yes we are already fond of them Maggy and I will take care of the babies since we live in the same house and the hospital staff quarters," Maggy said
"Yeah, that is a good idea let them have the babies since they already know the babies they have perfectly taken care of them for the time when the babies were in the incubator" the Director agreed.
"What is your legal opinion regarding this scenario," Doctor asked
"You are right, let them take care of the twin under the custody of the hospital, if anyone emerged be it a parent or guardian it's going to be easy to reach. The lawyer said
He removed the documentation and asked Maggy and Sandy to go forward to sign.
"What is the name of your newborn babies?" Lawyer asked
Sandy moved to the incubator she pointed to the one on the right.
"This one his name is Robin Tibet," Sandy said.
"To the left side is mine his name is David Kiplagat," Maggy said
The lawyer indicated their names and called both the hospital administration and the two nurses to sign.
"It's all done congratulations," The lawyer said
The entire Kericho fraternity clapped as they moved out of the incubator's room leaving behind Sandy and Maggy in a celebration mood.
Remember first thing in the morning we have to go shopping for boys remember they are going to be out of the incubator tomorrow and we are going to take them to our home.
The following morning Sandy and Maggy accompanied one another to the supermarket in Kericho town they had many things in their mind to buy.
"Let us start with the changing table," Maggy said
"That's a good idea," Sandy said
They picked two change tables used to change the pad.
"Here is a rocking chair for feeding and swaddling," Sandy said
They picked two rocking chairs.
"Where is the playpen," Maggy asked the supermarket attendant.
"It's the other side go to your left you will see the playpen," the attendant said.
Maggy and Sandy hurried to where the playpen was and they picked two.
"Here is a baby carrier and diaper bag," Sandy said
"They picked two and also plastic hangers.
I think we are done for now if we forgot we shall come and buy later " Maggy said
"Let's hurry the doctor and the administrator could be waiting for us since its almost time for us to take the twin into our house," Sandy said
They paid and rushed back to the hospital reaching the room the doctor was examining the twin already removed from the incubator.
"Ladies you are good to go, I knew you went to buy babies necessities good of you," Doctor said happily
Sandy took Robin and dressed him worm held him, Maggy held David and dressed him.
"Sir thank you so much," Maggy said
"You are welcome ladies" the Doctor responded
They both left the hospital with the babies in their arms to their homes.
Henry switched every channel he come across on his TV trying to get any information about his wife there was nothing, he called Thomas the detective.
"Sir, is there any information regarding my wife?" Henry asked
"Don't worry I have instructed the officers in Kisumu to check all the hospitals in Kisumu they are searching as we speak" Thomas said.
"Okay I trust you sir if you get any information about her may I know" Henry responded.
There was a knock on the door.
"Come on in," Henry said.
Pius Martha's father came in.
"Do you have any information about my daughter? " Pius asked
"No' but we were talking with Thomas right now," Henry said
"I have been thinking can we go to the school where Martha is teaching? " Pius suggested.
"Why do we want to go there, and yet we called the school?" Henry said
"No, but we didn't inform what exactly happened that Martha didn't arrive home," Pius said
There was another knock on the door Henry hurriedly opened it was Wilson his brother.
"Any news about your wife," he asked
"Pius's father-in-law has a suggestion," Henry said
"What could be the idea?" Wilson asked.
"I am suggesting that we go to the school Martha is teaching may be teachers parents and students could have information about him" Pius suggested
"That is a good idea if we don't do so the school will blame us that we didn't give them the information," Wilson said.
"Right away let's use my car outside the gate we need to hurry we reach the school before one O'Clock," Pius said
They rushed boarded the vehicle and drove to Ramogi secondary school reaching Awasi Henry peeped to see in the ditch where Martha's Phone was found.
"We still have 30 minutes drive to the school according to my Google map," Pius said
"Can we call the school?" Wilson suggested
"That's a good idea," Pius said
Wilson called the school secretary picked.
This is madam Martha's family members we are now coming to your school to inform the principal that in thirty minutes we will be at school Wilson said.
There was a knock in the principal's office.
"Come on in the door is open," the principal said
"What's is wrong Angela," the Principal asked
"Martha's family are on the way coming to his father's husband, they are three," Angela said
"What could be the problem last month immediately after Martha got a maternal leave they called asking if Martha left here," the principal asked
"I don't have any idea but it seems they are tense and anxious" Angela responded
They heard the vehicle approaching school at high speed they knew that it was Martha's family members.
Pius parked the vehicle and they all alighted and went to the office the students peeped on the windows to check on what is going on.
The principal and the secretary were already on the veranda waiting for them.
"Hallow sir how can I help you," Principal said
"Let's go to the office and talk we have a sensitive issue to discuss" Pius replied.
They entered the office and the secretary offered them seats.
"Have you heard the whereabouts of my daughter Martha?" Pius asked
"What happened to Martha our teacher very industrious teacher?" Principal asked
Angela ran outside crying other teachers came to inquire what happened.
"Angela why are you crying," Emily asked
"Martha is lost in the office we have their family members searching for her" Angela said
"You mean Martha my fellow English teacher is lost?" Emily asked
"Emily cried bitterly in the principal's office the principal is overwhelmed by shock to hear that Martha is lost.
"Have you reported the matter to the police?" Principal asked.
"Yes the whole of last week we were at the police station," Henry said
"We hope she is just lost nothing has happened to him," Principal said optimistically
"Today in the evening we are going to conduct assembly of all the school teaching none teaching staff and students to pass the information and also asked if someone has heard her whereabout" principal said
The students peeped at the window seeing female teachers weeping and other teachers grouping to discuss something as Pius Henry and Wilson drove
