~Flora's POV~
"I don't trust these big businessmen. They just want everyone to work according to them. And I don't work for people, I work for nature and smiles," Mom complained as I drove to the address given by Stacy.
"I know your values very well, Mom. But I have a feeling that this opportunity is going to be amazing for us. For how long we will keep giving our services to only students and couples? We need to expand our work as a business, and trust me; this is the best opportunity for us. We can partner with event management companies to increase our income, build this as a business, and..."
I smiled at her and then blew a kiss, "You can work more on your gardening and nurturing skills. Let me be the mind and you be the heart. What say?"
"This is not what I was expecting from you but fine... As long as you promise to stay out of trouble and listen to me, I am fine," She said with a sweet smile on her face that told me what she meant.
"I don't invite trouble; trouble loves my company," I giggled.
"And I hate that," She said while rolling her eyes.
I know she does... No mother loves their child getting in trouble. But I don't have control over it. No matter how hard I try not to stay outside late or stay with my friends always, I don't know how some people find their way to me.
I get that I am beautiful with a beautiful name but that doesn't mean people will keep chasing me. My name might be Flora but I don't like bees humming around me.
And those filthy two-legged human sort of bees... They were awful.
I don't know what they want from me. If it was not for my mother, I don't know where I would be today. But I still don't get how they appeared in front of me out of nowhere.
Twice those hobo-looking guys tried to abduct me. If Mom wasn't there to save my ass from those 3 hobos twice, I don't know where I would be today.
But I will be cautious. I always stay but now I have to make sure no situation like that comes in front of me again if I want Mom to stand with my decisions.
I just don't want to leave and go to another country for further studies. I want to prove to her that we can build a beautiful future together here as a duo and take our small local business to another level.
Soon we reached the address given by Stacy and my eyes widened in awe after seeing a beautiful mansion of white color surrounded by a huge garden standing in front of me.
Wow... This man has a huge place to give shelter to at least a hundred people or maybe more.
"You are?" The security outside the mansion asked.
"Agatha and Flora Watson. We have an appointment with Mr Wanner," I said.
"Boss is expecting them. Check their ID and let them go," Another guard said from behind.
He checked our ID and opened the huge black gate with the help of a button and I gazed at Mom, "Pretty lavish."
"Luxuries..." She chuckled.
I drove my modern looking grey pickup truck inside and parked it carefully in the parking with the other cars. Though it didn't look fancy with all the lavish cars standing around it, I was still proud of it. At least the look of it makes me feel like I am here for a serious business. That's a small business car.
I noticed that there was a swimming pool on my right with two chairs placed near it and there was a barbecue setup just a few inches away from it. Looks like either they had a barbecue last night or are about to have one tonight.
"He has a beautiful garden to grow a lot of beautiful flowers and trees with colorful fruits," Mom giggled.
"This way," A guard said.
We followed in his footsteps and entered the mansion which was breathtaking from the inside. The walls and furniture were creams in color, but the ceiling and curtains had a golden color, which enhanced the beauty of the mansion with its shine and elegance.
A big beautiful chandelier was hanging above our head and there was a huge staircase to my right corner made up of cream tiles and a golden railing. Looks like Mr. Wanner loves to live like royalty.
"Please have a seat Mr. Wanner will be here soon," The guard said and left.
"Wouldn't you want to have a life like this?" Mom whispered to me as we sat on the couch.
"I would love to but one thing is missing here," I whispered back.
She quirked her brow at me and I smiled, "The fragrance of wood and earth that we get in our home."
"This girl..." She shook her head and I giggled.
Luxuries and ease in living life matter to me as well but I can't forget or leave the connection that I feel with nature in our small house. Even this big mansion can't give me the sense of satisfaction that a small house made up of wood and surrounded by trees and flowers gives me.
I saw a man and a woman with black hair descending the stairs with smiles on their faces and holding each other's hands. They must be Mr. Wanner and his fiancee.
"Mrs. Agatha and Ms. Flora Watson," The man said while coming towards us.
Mom and I nodded our heads, "Yes."
"Hello, I am Neil Wanner, and this is my beautiful fiancee, Katherine Jones," Mr. Wanner said, and we shook hands with him and his fiancee.
"I heard very good words about your work from one of my best employees and I believe she won't suggest us anyone randomly. But before we get into details, I want to tell you that this is very important for both of us and it will require a lot of attention from both of you for the full day. We want the venue to be fresh as long as we are there," He said.
"Don't worry, we will not disappoint you. And we can assure you more of our service once we know the likes and dislikes and the venue," Mom said to him with a smile on her face.
His fiancee started to fill us with the details of the decoration and her choice of colors and flowers, and Mom started to take note of them.
"Is this the venue for the engagement? Because I need to see the venue so we can plan the decorations accordingly," I said.
"No, the venue is ten minutes away from our place. We will give you the address or my assistant can take you there to show you the place. She will tell you exactly where what's going to happen," Ms Katherine said.
"That would be helpful. We will discuss the needs, likes, and dislikes now, and tomorrow, we can visit the venue. If that's okay with you," I asked.
"Perfect," She smiled brightly which made her fiance chuckle and he kissed her head with love pouring in his eyes.
Gosh, that's so cute.
I don't care about the materialistic luxuries but I would love to have the luxury of love in my life that I am seeing in Mr. Wanner's eyes for his fiancee. It's adorable.
Well, maybe one day when the time is right.
I took my phone out of my bag and started looking at the points that Mom was noting down and sighed in relief; it was time to make my first and biggest project of life awesome!
