~Flora's POV~
The sound of chirping birds reached my ears and I snuggled more into my pillow with a smile on my face. Light sunray was falling on my face, which made a yawn come out my mouth and I stretched my muscles, I had a feeling that is going to be a beautiful day.
I slowly opened my eyes, keeping my sleepy eyes glued in the direction of the left window of my room, and smiled, I love waking up to this beautiful view.
Tall trees with apples, colorful birds sitting on the branches while chirping in sync, and sunlight falling all over the area making it look heavenly.
It's beautiful... Who wouldn't love to wake up with a beautiful scene like this every single day?
I am sure anyone who hates his or her life or is sad or depressed would love to wake up to this beautiful view where peace is everything.
I'm glad that I can have this... Daily... All credit goes to my amazing mother, who gave this house and its surroundings a beautiful life.
If it wasn't for her gardening skills, I am sure I would also have been waking up to those boring tall building views and the honks of the cars.
"Flora, breakfast is ready."
"Coming in a few minutes, Mother."
I quickly went into the bathroom, which was on my right, and did my morning routine. I had a nice quick shower, washed my hair with my favorite mild-scented shampoo, and walked out of the bathroom with one towel wrapped around my hair and the other on my body.
Picking up a white thin strapped bodycon organza dress with pink colour flowers and tiny green leaves on it, I picked my ivory heels from the shelf and quickly got dressed.
Letting my long chestnut brown hair air dry, I applied moisturizer, sunscreen, nude pink lipstick, and soft pink blush on my cheeks and smiled, my genes are so good that I don't need layering of makeup. Just this much makeup gives me a beautiful glow, and even without a highlighter, my skin glows as if I had put some high-end highlighter or shimmery blusher on my face.
Well, again, all credit goes to my beautiful mother.
I walked down the stairs and reached our small living room where my mother was waiting for me. She smiled at me as she saw me approaching her, "You look so pretty. You never stop proving that your name suits you well."
"Yeah... you know I love flowers a lot," I giggled.
"Yeah, I guess that's why your mother is a florist," She laughed.
"Nope, we are," I smiled and started walking towards the kitchen counter where our breakfast was placed.
"No... Flora, we talked about this. I love when you give your assistance to me but sweetheart, I want you to complete your college and go for further studies. You are not living this life for your whole life," She said while taking a seat right next to me.
"But what's wrong with this life? I mean... We are happy. That's all that matters. And I am not going to leave you... Ever. Also, I love the way we live. Luxuries are good but this peace with each other in such a beautiful environment... I don't want to leave this," I said and took a bite from my vegetable sandwich.
We do not have a luxurious life and we don't live in the middle of the city where everything is accessible in just a few minutes. We live near the city borders in a small house which is all made of wood. From furniture to walls, everything is made of wood in our home and we only have two rooms with two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room.
But it's not that I have any complaints about my house or life, I love the way I live.
My house might be small but it's beautiful and is surrounded by a beautiful garden which is filled with trees and beautiful flowers. For birds and tiny creatures, our garden is their home and for me, their presence and voice is peace. I don't ever want to leave the peace in my life and live in the hustle of the city with so much crowd around me.
"Flora..."
"Mom, we are good. We are doing good even from here. If I ever feel that I need to do more, I will. But for now, let's close the discussion because you know that I will not agree to what you want. But yes, I will go the college today as the fresher's party is around the corner and I need to prepare for it. So you are on your own in the shop today," I smiled at her.
"Finally, at least you are going today," She sighed.
I chuckled; she was so adamant about sending me to college that whenever I went to the shop, she always tried to reprimand me from entering the shop and helping her with the orders. But as usual, I always end up convincing her and helping her with everything from watering the plants to delivering huge orders of flowers to the venue. And I just love what I do in the shop.
I gave Mom a goodbye kiss and took my bag to leave for the college.
"Just enjoy and study, alright?" She said as I opened the door.
I smiled, "Yes, I will."
********************
"You know you have much more potential than sitting in the park," Stacy, my friend said while lazily sitting beside me on the bench.
"Don't you ever get bored? I mean, you are always surrounded by flowers. Your shop, your home, in college, and even in your clothing! And above your name is FLORA. God... Too many flowers," She added while shaking her head.
"Nope... Never... Who can get bored with this natural beauty? I don't... Do you?" I laughed while soaking the sunlight falling over me.
"No... But... I mean... Ugh, never mind," She groaned.
"So all set for the party?" She asked.
I nodded my head, "Yes, it is. We just need flowers for decoration and they will be here early morning on the celebration day. We need fresh flowers."
"Yeah... That's your department to take care of," She giggled while shaking her head.
"By the way, I have a very big and exciting offer for your mom. My mom told me that her boss is getting engaged and he is throwing the biggest party of the year for his bride. He wants beautiful decorations done all with flowers since his bride is also obsessed with flowers. It's gonna be a very big order because the venue is big and he wants all fancies made up of flowers," Stacy said.
My eyes twinkled with excitement and without holding my excitement, I said, "That's great! This will be perfect for us and our business! We will get more exposure but..."
"But?"
"Do you think he will give us the opportunity? I mean I am sure he doesn't want to take any risk when it concerns his soon to be wife's liking and the most important day of their life," I said.
"Oh, that won't be a problem. Mom can talk to him regarding this, and he trusts my mother a lot. So nothing will go wrong. Just make sure you are doing everything right at your end. Do you want Mom to give your reference?" She asked.
I smiled brightly at her, "Without any doubt, yes."
