Gina inhaled deeply as she sat with a jerk. She felt suffocated and tried to take few deep breaths before realizing that she was in her room. She calmed herself and at the same time Tasha entered the room. Seeing that Gina woke up, she stood near her and checked her pulse.
"What happened? How I came here?"
Gina questioned her who freed her wrist.
"You should rest now."
Tasha told her who already left the bed.
"I am going to meet Genesis." Gina wore her shoes and walked out of the room while Tasha was quick to to stand in front of her.
"It's better if you don't go. The deity of war is taking care of this matter."
Suddenly a bell ring inside Gina's head. She looked at Tasha rather horrified.
"What? Why?"
"He believes young master tried to kill you even though he was the one who brought you here while you were unconscious....."
Gina knitted her brows. It was accident as Genesis would have not known that she can't swim.
Tasha was saying something but she could not hear anything and ran towards the side where Tasha was telling Omas was punishing Genesis. As she reached to the hall, she found Omas sitting on the throne while Gems was kneeling on the floor with his head hung low. Xiro was standing at the side and was looking down. A man was using an iron whip on Genesis whose back was bloody with deep cuts.
"Stop." She ran towards where Genesis was kneeling and glanced at Omas who calmly watched her.
"You woke up. It's good."
He looked cold with no emotions while Gina watched the man who did not lift his head. His Silver hair were in a mess due to blood and flesh.
"Why are you punishing him?"
"Because he tried to kill you." Omas replied and Gina bit her lower lip. Genesis still did not look at her.
"He did not."
"Don't lie Alpha. He already admitted." Omas rolled dhis eyes.
"He did not. I don't know how to swim so you can't blame him for this. Moreover, he saved me." Gina fought with the man who stood up in anger. He walked towards her who stood at her place rather scared. Standing in front of her, Omas knitted his brows and then leaned.
"I hate when people lie." His voice was low yet scary enough to make Gina scared. There was something in Omas tone which make Gina realize that it was not just sibling rivalry but deep hatred.
"I am not lying. Why would I come to save him if he actually tried to kill me?"
Gian questioned him who scoffed and waved his hand. The next second, he disappeared in the air. Gina turned her hand to find that the man who was whipping Genesis also left while Xiro walked towards them and stood next to her. He watched his master who slowly lifted his head. Gina blinked slowly seeing his lower lip bleeding. She had no idea how long he was whipped like this.
Genesis got up and left without looking at her while Xiro followed him. Gina wanted to talk to him but waited for the next day.
She found Genesis on his stone bed completely healed. He looked the same and not a bit affected by the whipping.
He looked at her and gave a big smile. As he patted the space next to him indicating she can sit there, Gina took the invite.
"I apologize for ..."
"It's not the first time." Genesis looked in a good mood.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"You already did."
He replied and Gina blinked slowly.
"Can I ask you three questions?"
"You already did." He nodded and Gina knitted her brows in confusion.
"When?"
"Just now." He looked amused and Gina inhaled deeply.
"Why your brother is after your ring?"
She questioned him who looked surprised.
"Don't tell me you let him know I found my ring?" He questioned her who could not understand what was happening but shook her head.
"That's good. He has gone crazy since Avery disappeared with my ring. I told him many time that I don't have the ring but he is always doubtful about it."
Genesis rolled his eyes and Gina pressed her lips together. She knew that Oams wanted that ring but it seemed like that ring is more important than she thought.
"What's so special in that ring?"
Genesis glanced at her as deciding if he should tell her about it or not.
"Forget about it. I am sure it has nothing special in it." Gina decided to change the topic and make Genesis to spill the beans on his own. He was not brightest in this Temple.
"How can you say that? Whenever a dragon shifts first time, they shed their first scale. It's the most precious thing a dragon can has. I turned it into a ring for my special one but Avery stole it before I could find her." He pouted in the end.
"Then why didn't you try to find it."
"I did. Whenever it is not with their owner, the scale calls them. I could not understand why it did not call me for hundreds of years."
Gina knitted her brows. When she lost the ring on her eighteen birthday it could be that the ring called Genesis.
"I can't believe this." She rolled her eyes.
"Then don't believe it. It indeed called me few years back. May be nine or ten years back. An alpha and his wife..... They were in a jungle....."
Genesis tried to think hard and Gina could feel her heart skipping a beat.
9 years ago, when she was returning from a party, she lost her ring for the first time and that was when she lost her parents.
"You....you killed my parents? It was you? ....that energy belonged to you..?..."
Her voice trembled slightly as she put two and two together.
