ALDRIC'S POV
"Will you be okay on your own for a while?"
I asked Selene as I dropped her off in her room and handed her the key.
She took a moment to look around her surroundings before shifting her eyes back to the floor and nodding slowly and silently.
"Are you sure? I need to know if it's not okay, Selene. You can tell me."
I asked once more, wanting to make absolutely sure she wasn't uncomfortable with this arrangement in any way. She's already in a bit of a bad mood as it is. Even a blind man could tell she wasn't happy, and as much as I try not to pry too much, I can't really help it. I don't want her uncomfortable or inconvenienced in any way. I want her safe and comfortable. I want her to be happy, if only she would let me make that happen.
