I didn't understand what Chase meant by those words, and somehow, I felt afraid of finding out.
Maybe it's because I'm already not liking everything I've heard from him and his friend so far about how Selene ended up in the woods all those nights ago. All those stories about her cheating on her mate and betraying her pack with the enemy—none of them are sitting well with me. At all.
