I kept my eyes on my feet as I saw them approach.
I still can't believe this is happening. I can't believe he's here. When Dela had mentioned it, I'd hoped that I'd heard wrong. Or at least that she was just messing with me. Not this.
I've done all I could. I've done everything within my power to avoid him these past few weeks, even going so far as to break into a run whenever he saw me walk by and tried to call out to me.
I even burned the pack's breakfast once because I heard him walking into the kitchen and panicked. I hid myself in the storeroom and left the pancakes to burn to crisps on the stove.
