Chapter 17

Clea Mair’s Pov

“So? What are we going to do now?” I asked him as we ate the ice cream that he bought before coming here on the rooftop of the hotel where we had our dinner.

We went here to spend more time together without anyone seeing us. As much as possible, we want to keep what we have private. Even just for now.

Well, maraming tao sa paligid namin ang siguradong makikialam sa kung ano ang mayroon kami kapag nalaman nila na nagiging malapit kami sa isa’t-isa. Kaya mas mabuti na muna ito.

We will not keep it secret but we will definitely keep it private.

“Your brother just threatened you to finally continue our wedding agreement just to get you back home,” I added. “Can you do something to him?”

He nodded. “I can come up with a lot of ways to handle my brother and make him an accomplice to ensure both of our freedom longer but the price to pay is higher than usual,” he said. “He is not exactly the type of person that you could call nice.”

“What does it mean?”

“He is a cunning man and people are always caught in his scheme, that is why he always gets what he wants,” he said. “Though, he is a good brother for all its worth. Oh well, people in our country aren't really nice to others aside from their family.”

“What is the possible price for him to help us?”

Itinuro niya ang sarili. “I have to succeed him and become the emperor of our country, just like what our father wanted.” Sinubuan niya ako ng ice cream. “If I accept that, he might also free you from the marriage agreement that holds you to us.”

Mabilis akong umiling. “Don’t do that!” I said. “I mean, if he terminates the marriage agreement, my family will surely choose another family to marry me off and I am sure, it will be different by that time. I will get married right away.”

“Yeah, I also thought about that idea.” He wiped the side of my lips. “I am trying to think what I should do to stop that from happening and extend our time together.”

“Okay.” Kinuha ko ang kutsara at ice cream sa kamay niya at itinabi iyon sa gilid pagkuwa’y humarap sa kanya. “Enough with this topic for now. It is clear to us that the fate of our situationship is in the hands of your brother and only you can handle him so I will let you do all the work for that, okay?”

He chuckled. “Situationship? Is that even a word?”

“Of course!” mabilis kong sabi. “That was a word that describes the relationship without a label. Just like what we have.”

“Oh.” He nodded. “Situationship, huh? This is the first time I had this kind of relationship. No label, just a mutual understanding.”

“Does it mean you had a previous relationship with women?”

“Honestly?” He shook his head. “I don’t believe in relationships. I kind of think of it as a nuisance to my life since most of the women I know always keep demanding more time and romantic effort even though we just started dating which I can’t always give because of my job.”

“I didn’t expect that there were women actually expecting that from a man like you,” I said which made him frown. “From what I heard from other women around me, a man with money and looks only good with gifts, small time, and effort. You know, as long as they give enough time to show their affection, that is all it is. They never exert more than that.”

“You only heard that?” tanong niya. “Never experienced it firsthand?”

“I grew up isolated in the palace,” I answered. “The only male species that I was allowed to see back then are my father, brother, a couple of uncles, and cousins. I am not even allowed to see my grandparents nor allowed to be seen by any palace knights. So, to answer your question, no, I have never experienced anything like that.”

“Well, I can’t blame them for thinking that much about me,” he said. “They must have heard that everyone in my family showed their affection to someone else by giving them time and effort.”

“Eh?”

Natatawa siyang tumangu-tango. “Halos lahat ng mamamayan sa buong Reveni ay alam ang tungkol sa bagay na iyon. Especially the man in our clan. They were known as someone who was ready to drop everything, even an important meeting or emergency just to be with their loved one.”

My family let me study everything about the Henan Clan in the hope that I would become the next empress of that country.

They were not the ones who established that country. There are four families ahead of them who ruled it and once the last clan transferred everything to them, they maintained it for five generations as of this moment.

And they are the only ones in that country who don't believe in polygamy practice.

All the men in their families only had one wife even though their law allowed every member of the aristocratic society to have at least five up to seven wives depending on their social status and wealth.

That is why almost everyone in our country wants to go to the Reveni Empire to become a Revenian man. Not that Hexorian men are bad when it comes to relationships but most of them were known for their dominant attitude that likes to control everyone around them. Just like my brother, Hector.

“But sad to say, I am a little different from my family,” he added. “ And I am too busy handling my business and stuff so I don’t have enough time for demanding women.”

“Iyan ba ang rason kaya pinapatos mo ang mga representatives ng mga kumpanya na gustong makipag-collab sa kumpanya mo?”

“Well, yeah,” walang pagdadalawang-isip niyang sagot. Not that he was proud of his answer. More like he was just being honest. “I can’t deny that fact but I need someone to fulfill my s****l needs without fearing impregnating anyone or catching disease.”

Medyo natigilan ako pero hindi ko siya masisisi sa klase ng lifestyle na mayroon siya dahil lalaki pa din naman siya. Natural lang sa kanila ang maghanap ng magbibigay ng sekswal nilang pangangailangan.

In his case, he chose to be wise and choose women who surely would be safe from anything. Single women with high-paying jobs threw themselves at him willingly.

“Now that we are already on this topic, how will we handle this situationship?” I asked. “Ngayon pa lang ay sasabihin ko na sayo na hindi ko makakayanang punan ang s****l needs—”

“You don’t need to worry about that, Clea Mair,” natatawa niyang sabi. “It is not my end of the world if I stop having s*x. I need it but it is not necessary for my life so I am not expecting you to give me anything about that. I just want to be with you. Go out and eat. Hang out when we both have time. Just that, Clea Mair. I would not ask for anything more than that.”

“Okay.” Nakahinga ako ng maluwag. “Mas mabuti na iyong nagkakaliwanagan tayo tungkol sa bagay na iyon.”

“I can promise you, while we are together, there will be no other women involved,” he sincerely said. “And I am telling you this because I want you to know that I am serious about my feelings for you. I do like you and I want to make an effort even though we don’t have any future ahead of us.”

“I’m serious about it, that is why I want us to come up with an open agreement,” I stated. “I don’t want to mess up the only chance I can be with the first man I ever like in my whole life.” I frowned when I saw him staring intently at me.

Oh, scratch that. He is staring at my lips as if he wants to devour it.

“Hey!” Hinampas ko ang braso niya kaya muling bumaling sa mga mata ko ang tingin niya. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Well…” He sighed and scratched his head. “I was actually tempted to kiss you but let’s keep everything rated PG for now. I don’t want to defile your innocent mind.”

Hinampas ko siyang muli sa braso. “What do you think of me, a child?”

He shook his head. “You are not a child in my eyes, Clea Mair. Just innocent.” He held my hand and kissed the back of it. “Just an innocent sexy lady.”
