By the time Rio arrived at The Maverick, Merry’s group had already finished eating. Merry had saved Rio a seat at the long table. He ordered a beer and sat and talked. Mark once again was at the far end of the table from where Rio sat.
After about an hour the band was introduced and began to play. Most of the group got up to dance. The song was a popular one with a specific line dance that went with it. Rio knew it. He’d done it many times back at the ranch where part of his job was to mingle with the guests at The Watering Hole saloon. He helped Merry, Caitlin, and the rest learn the steps. Mark, however, remained seated with some of the riders’ parents.
Rio was having a good time. They all danced to several songs.
