“Next event, Team Pennin’,” Seth announced over the loud speaker to the crowd gathered to watch the rodeo. “For y’all that don’t know what Team Pennin’ is, I’ll explain. Ya see that herd of calves in the pen. There’s thirty of ‘em. They all have numbers on their backs. Three have ones, three twos and so on. A team of cowboys go into the pen. Usually there are three but we’ll just have two on a team. I call out a number and they have to cut out the three dogies with that number, drive ‘em down to that little pen ya see at the other end of the arena, and pen ‘em. Normally there’s a sixty second time limit. But today we’ll say the team that does that in the shortest time wins. We have three teams competin’ today. Sonny and Charlie, Lex and Trent, and Rio and Mark.”
