-Opal P.O.V.-
I was currently sitting in my brother's office with my father and some Alpha who was giving me weird vibes. My mother had just gone off to go and get Axel since Axel was not responding to her mind-links which is something that he does. I look over to this Alpha and something is not sitting well with me and my father looks to smug for his own good. I cannot believe my father right now, and honestly, I do not even see him as my father. I have seen what he has done to my brother and I will never forgive him for those things.
The times I have had to help my brother clean his wounds from the beatings he suffered, and how many times that I would see my mother plead with my father to stop. My father is a cruel man and just because he treats me well doesn't mean that I buy into that. I am broken from my train of thoughts when that man speaks.
"So, you are Axel's sister?" He asks me as if he didn't know.
I look over to him and co*k my eyebrow at him. "You know that I am his sister." I spit out at him.
His smug look falters as my father is quick to scold me. "Don't be disrespectful, Opal."
I snap my eyes to my father and he just looks at me. I was about to say something when the door opened...
-Axel P.O.V.-
Just before the door to his office opens..
I have no idea why my mother is bugging me this early in the morning and I am not pleased. I would rather introduce my mate to the pack now that I have marked/mated with him. I am thankful that my mate is with me right now because if he wasn't, then I would be raising hell. We make it to my office and my mother enters first while my mate and I follow her, and what do I see? My father is sitting there with my sister along with a man I have never met before. I could feel that something was off when it came to him.
Bryant: Keep your guard up because something is up. I can feel that something is off with this guy.
Me: Yeah, I can feel it.
Just when I cut off the link with my wolf, I could feel my mate grip tighter onto my arm as he looked at the man. I then look over to see that my sister is looking at the guy weird. What is with this guy?
"Come and sit down, son." My mother says as she takes a seat.
I just nod as I walk over to my desk chair with Forrest on my arm. I then sit down as I pull my mate into my lap. He leans back on me while I wrap my arms around his waist. I then look up as I decide to finally find out the hell is going on.
"So, who are you and what are you doing in my office? Better yet, why are you on my pack land when I had no knowledge of it." I question the man.
"I apologize for showing you without informing you as it was your father who I spoke to. I am an old friend of your fathers and I have always had a treaty when it came to him..." I held my hand up to stop him as I didn't really care to hear the rest.
"What are you doing here?" I questioned him as you could hear the anger in my voice.
"I am here to collect what is supposed to be mine." I chuckle as I look at him to which he does not find funny.
"And what is supposedly yours?" I finally questioned him after I stopped chuckling.
He looks at me with hard eyes. "Your sister. I am here for Opal."
"WHAT?!?!" My sister screams as she jumps up from her chair. "I belong to NO ONE."
"What is going on, dear?" My mother asks my father as he just hangs his head in shame. Of course, when it comes to my sister, he actually cares.
I hold my hand up before anyone can continue. "I am going to have to ask whatever your name is to leave. I need to speak with my family about this as we didn't know and I am now the Alpha of this pack, okay?" I tell him as he just nods.
He stands up and walks out of my office to which my Beta will make sure that he leaves. I then turn to my father who is just sitting there silently. I raise my eyebrows to him and he sighs.
"Before Opal was born, I had made a deal with that Alpha as this pack was in trouble. He was going to give us money and protection since we got hit hard from some rogues until we could get back on our feet. But it came with a price..." He hung his head down with shame. "He made me sign a treaty deal, but I didn't read all of it. I wish I would have because it said that I would have to give up my daughter to him when she turned a certain age. I didn't know about it until we had Opal." He looked over to my mom, who was crying as he spoke. "I am so sorry, love. I should've been smarter. I am sorry." He then looked up to Opal. "I am so sorry. I failed you as a father."
My sister snapped her head to my father and looked at him with cold eyes. "You are dead to me."
"Please, you do not mean that." My father begs my sister, but she just turns her back and walks out of my office. Forrest is quick to get off of my lap and he chases after my sister and I let him. I would, but I need to be here to deal with this. I hate to say this because it will seem insensitive, but I am numb to this. I have known my father to be an evil man, so this does not surprise me. I lean up in my chair as I look at my father who has tears in his eyes as my mother is a complete wreck.
"Alright, I need to know who this man is and I need a copy of this treaty that you signed, father." I spoke with so much venom in my voice.
