Chapter 3: Let The Game Begin!

No reaction, even with the host announcing that it’s going to be a battle royale. Do these people know what a battle royale is? Because if they know, they should be afraid as it’s one man standing… meaning that the player needs to defeat the rest of the participants and to be the only person left in this event.
But suddenly I thought of why these people don’t seem to be afraid. It might be that all of these people think this is a joke of some kind.
When I give it a thought, it’s likely as there’s no way it could be a battle royale. Because if the government officials knew about this, they would surely stop this event.
This makes me think that the host might make a mistake here, just like when he mentions that there are 12 players in here instead of 9.
“So could we start the killing now?” The person with the gray mask said that towards the host.
“Be patient… This place is a safe place and no one will be allowed to kill anyone here.” The host said.
Is he being serious right now!? But it seems like the host is being serious as this is what this event is all about.
I couldn't believe what I heard, I couldn’t hold it in anymore as I then stood up from my seat and uttered the words regarding the event.
“What’s with all of you! Why are you all being silent here… he said that this is a battle royale and we need to kill each other. Do you all want to die that badly!?” I said.
Even with that, they still didn't do anything at all, these people here just stare at me while saying nothing at all. It’s like what I had thought earlier, all of these people might have known that this was a battle royale from the beginning and I’m the only one that has no idea what I am getting myself into.
But all of this makes me realize something… if this is what my older brother once participated in before. That means he had lost in this battle royale, the reason why they never found my older brother as he’s already dead.
The man with the gray mask then walked towards me as he said, “How unlucky you are boy, as you will be the first one to die. You already exposed your face and it would be easy for us to hunt you down.”
Hearing that makes my heart skip a beat…
Does that mean that there’s a reason why we’re required to wear the mask before we enter this place? I thought it’s just an accessory… I just know I realized what it does right now after hearing what the man said.
Am I going to be the first victim here? Thinking about that makes me somewhat afraid of what is going to happen… as all participants would target me for sure.
But I must keep my composure here. I couldn't let this guy know that I’m afraid of this game at all. If I show them my fear, for sure they would use it against me, and somehow that would give me pressure.
With that, I decided to put on my poker face and hope that they all will buy it…
“You think I am the unlucky one… what a fool you are. The reason why I show you my face is that there’s no need for me to hide it, no matter how many of you come on me… I will kill you and win this Celestial Game!” I said that trying to be a little bit more intimidating.
“Ha! Try to act tough aren’t you, I could tell so-”
The man’s sentence was interrupted by me as I took off my mask and threw it right into his face. I am aware that making my face visible to these people is not a good idea. But since they already had seen my face, there’s no need for me to cover it up anymore.
“Could you tell that was coming? Not right…” I paused for a bit as I said, “I will do this again, if you all want to die that badly, just come to me and I will make sure that will happen.”
Somehow my action ignited the wrath of that person, he got closer to me, and clearly, he was about to land a punch onto my face.
The host stood between the both of us as he said, “This isn’t the place to fight and I already told both of you that.”
With that intervention, it managed to stop that person from punching me. Although I could see that he’s still clenching his fist at the moment.
But to be honest, I’m quite grateful for the host to intervene… If not I’m sure that fist will hit me and all of my bluffs just now would go to waste.
It’s obvious that I can’t back out from this anymore… Even if I managed to get out of this tournament, this gray mask guy would surely hunt me down no matter what. As there’s no doubt that he’s holding a grudge against me already because of this incident.
“So what the wait? Let’s get this battle royale started!” The gray mask guy said.
“If that’s what you wish, then I will gladly announce that the Celestial Games have officially begun! You all may press the app on the phone that you chose a moment ago.” The host said that to all of the participants.
All people follow the instructions and click on the only app that’s on the phone, which is the app called Zodiacs.
As soon as I click it, I feel a bit weird, I feel like I’m losing my energy all of the sudden. I also begin to have a lot of this strange feeling. It made me dizzy and I had no other choice but to sit down.
My eyes feel heavy and before I know it…
