“Absolutely, it’s been a dream of mine for a long time. And having you on board is the icing on the cake.” I winked at her, seeing her shake her head as she chuckled and rolled her eyes at me, the sound like a melody in the warm air.
“I’m looking forward to it. I’ve heard great things about your culinary skills. And you do make a mean pancake in all honesty.” She shrugged, and I felt a warmth radiate through me at her words. I found myself captivated by Jules’ laughter, her easygoing nature, and the way her eyes lit up whenever she looked at me. I smiled, looking up into the crowd and locking eyes with Adam, who waved his hand at me as if telling me to ‘move it along’. And so, I took in a deep breath, before turning my focus on Jules once more.
