Koda's P.O.V.
“Who’s at the door?” I asked Adam, leaning in closer. I knew my brother and I knew his inner wolf, Canin, as well. That wolf would never leave his mate alone at the door unattended. Which meant that he knew exactly who was standing on the other side of it, piquing my curiosity, of course. Adam smirked at me, mischief dancing in his dark brown eyes, the exact same eyes as mine since we shared them with our late father.
“It’s a surprise for Jenna.” He smiled, and my curiosity only grew, once I heard the sounds of women screaming floating back into the kitchen. Two female voices sounded thrilled, and laughter quickly followed after the joyful screams.
Well, at least they aren’t murdering each other out there…
But what piqued my interest even more, was the fact that my inner wolf, Shadow, also seemed very interested to get out there and see what was happening at the front door with his own eyes. Now, don’t call me a nosy Nelly, but my wolf was never one to be dominant at all. He was a follower and mostly chill, but right now, he was giving me the impression that if I didn’t go and see what
was happening in the living room with my own eyes, he was about to rip my balls off with his teeth. Thank God, Adam started walking into his newly renovated living room. Which meant that I would give him a minute of privacy before I would go and have a look at this visitor myself.

Shadow snarled inside of my head.
Dude, chill the f**k out! What the hell is wrong with you?
“There you are!” Adam’s voice sounded coming from the living room.
“What? Did you know that she was coming?” I now heard Jenna gasp in surprise.
“Of course he did, I told you he was the right man for you, inviting me over and all.” A new voice mixed into the conversation, surprising the hell out of me, since the sound of it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up straight.
NOW! GET INSIDE NOW!
My wolf Shadow screamed at me, at the top of his lungs, basically making my body move forward out of its own accord. Hell, I hadn’t even noticed my brother Blade following me as I walked straight into the living room, basically, because my entire body went into overdrive the very next second.
First, I heard the voice that had pulled me into the living room once again, or that at least had made my wolf move into
the living room.
Second, there was this smell, once I had stepped through the living room door. Now, I was a cook here, I knew my ‘scents’ more than anyone, and yet nothing had ever smelled this addictive and intoxicating before in my entire life. I wanted to f*****g bottle that scent
and hide it somewhere where nobody would ever be able to find it, ever. It reminded me of vanilla, only better, richer, like a f*****g drug to my nostrils.
And then, third, my f*****g eyes looked, and for the love of me, did they see… Right there, smack in the middle of my brother’s brand spanking new living room as if God himself had put her there just for me, was without a doubt the most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my entire life. She was quite petite, wearing a pair of tight jeans that showed off her killer ass as if it was waiting for my hands to grab it. She wore a black jacket that made her look cool and cute at the same time and a dark green t-shirt that covered her
gorgeous breasts. They weren’t massive, but I somehow just knew they would fit into my hands perfectly. She was wearing cute white sneakers and her hair was loose in dark brown waves, a shade darker brown than my own. She had a small adorable button nose and she looked like f*****g perfection, the whole f*****g package if you asked me. If you would have asked me to cut out and paste together my perfect woman… I wouldn’t have been smart enough to create her.
But then… she turned and looked directly at me, and vibrant green eyes locked with mine.
And that’s when my wolf Shadow
lost his God damn f*****g mind.

“This is Blade and Koda, two of Adam’s brothers. Guys, meet my best friend Jules from Chicago.” I could hear Jenna’s voice somewhere in the distance as if she was standing twenty miles away from me, because I only had ears for my wolf, who was now throwing a temper tantrum deep inside of me because I hadn’t grabbed that woman standing in the middle of the living room. I mean… seriously… Did he really want me to just walk over to her, and let me sink my teeth into this girl without even talking to her first?
Sounds pretty f*****g amazing to me…

But my wolf’s excitement quickly turned into another raging emotion which was called jealousy, because this drop-dead gorgeous sweet little thing, extended her teeny tiny hand, and extended it to none other than my ass of a brother, Blade.
Kill him!

that’s our brother! Relax!
And he is touching our mate, so kill him!
Rip his head off, or even better…his balls!
And yet, all I could do was look at her, and somehow still find a way to keep breathing. Which right now, seemed like a serious win on my end.
“Nice to meet you,” The little angel spoke to Blade, and holy f*****g hell, I had never heard a more angelic voice coming out of a human being than hers. Which only made my wolf turn into an even bigger ass because we wanted her to speak to us instead of f*****g Blade, for crying out loud. But as if she had heard my thoughts, the angel pulled her hand out of Blade’s and extended it to me. She sent me a friendly smile, and I couldn’t have predicted the whirlwind of emotions that would follow. Because as soon as her hand touched mine, Shadow went f*****g ballistic inside of me. My heart raced a mile a minute, and a strange tingling sensation
ran up and back down my spine. And I just knew right then and there, that I would never be able to let her go, ever again. Even her skin felt like perfection underneath my fingertips.
“Nice to meet you,” the angel spoke to me, trying to be friendly, while I tried to keep my composure, despite wanting to throw myself at her and kiss her senselessly, or even worse, mark her.
Do you see how f*****g perfect she is?
We’re so lucky!
Huh…
who knew my inner wolf would be so sentimental once he would find his one true
mate?
Let’s put her on the table and f**k her, so nobody will ever look in her direction again.

so far for the sentimental part…
And somewhere in between those couple of microseconds after she had spoken to me, I just blinked, utterly perplexed by her gorgeous green eyes that were staring right back at me. My wolf, who had always been pretty chill in my life, was now going bananas over a girl I had just met a minute ago. And me… I just stood there, frozen, bewitched, smitten, flabbergasted, looking like a complete moron or a lunatic.
Say something!
Woo her!
Make her fall in love with us!

How on earth do you woo someone with one sentence?
Impress her!
Show her that we are the perfect mate for her.
Make her laugh, compliment her, be charming!
Great, my wolf had gone from laid-back and chill, to full-on matchmaking mode in only a matter of seconds.
“Koda?” Adam called out to me, finally being able to snap me out of my daydream.
“Mind having a word in the kitchen? I need your help with something.” Adam added, to which I nodded, even though my eyes were still very much on Jules, the green-eyed angel, who much to my pleasure was still holding onto my hand. Still smiling at me. Still looking at me. Still mesmerizing me.

Wolves love a good mane of hair! My wolf Shadow intervened.
And hell, I even opened my mouth to actually say something to her next, but instead, Adam grabbed me by the shoulders and guided me to the kitchen, leaving the green-eyed angel in the living room, while I still hadn’t said one damn word to her.
