As Chad pulled into the driveway that night, he was surprised at the rush of disappointment he felt at not seeing Jeff already there. He dismissed it as just being tired from his first day back at work and made his way inside, dropping his keys into the little yellow bowl on the entryway table. He wanted to get out of his uniform and into something more comfortable, so he made a beeline to his room and quickly stripped, hung his uniform in the closet, and dropped his underclothing into the hamper. He pulled his favorite gray sweatpants from the dresser and slid them on, but he couldn’t find the T-shirt he wanted to wear.
