I stopped after a few minutes of walking. The scorching heat from the sun blazed me as I stood against the fence post. It had been a long walk from the royal palace all the way back in Amara’s residence and I can’t help but feel exhausted. Having an injury on my right shoulder definitely didn’t help my case either.
I opened the fence gate then entered the house quietly. Immediately, I saw Amara dusting off the furniture in their living area. Surprise and delight filled her face as her eyes landed on me.
“Oliver! You’re back!” She exclaimed in which I replied with a weak smile. I particularly wasn’t in the mood to the smile. In fact, I’m never in the mood to smile. Though it was the least I could do for her enthusiasm upon seeing me.
