Chapter Five What the Night Brought They ate from bowls placed before them in their stalls. Meat, potatoes, beans. It didnt taste all that bad to starving women. The fact that they didnt have use of their hands, nor were there utensils to eat with would have made the meal embarrassing under most circumstances, but, thankfully, no one watched as they bowed their heads and ate from the bowls using their lips and tongues like the animals theyd become.
