Chapter 1

1117 Words
A loud cry breaks the silent night when four female beta werewolves barged into the room and met me standing two feet away from the Alpha's dead body. My heart kept racing, my eyes widened in shock with blood dripping down my fingertips. "What have you done!" Elise, the One of the female betas exclaimed, her eyes shrank in unbelief and she ran out of the room. "Alpha Cullen is dead, Andrea killed him, she is a spy!" Her voice echoed through the hallway as she kept screaming of the abomination I've committed. The other three female betas swiftly grabbed me, pulling me out of the room. They dragged me down the stairs of the pack mansion as they brought me before the Luna who was standing on the platform in the first floor. "Alpha Cullen is dead!" Elise announced, her sharp voice disrupting the night ball that was ongoing. I looked around speechlessly at the eerie faces of the pack and back again at The Luna whose eyes were widened in shock. "I didn't do it, please you have to believe me, I didn’t kill the Alpha," I pleaded. "Lair!" Elise exclaimed. "Harvey, I saw her, I witnessed everything," she said to the Alpha's son who was standing beside his mother. I was still pleading when they brought down the dead body of Alpha, laying it on the floor before Harvey and his mother, Elisabeth. Elisabeth's eyes shrank in confusion as she fell on her husband's corpse and began sobbing. "How could you?" she grieved, staring at me with a mix of sadness and hate in her eyes. "How could you do this?" I looked back up at Harvey, his charming blue eyes were now filled with despair. "Harvey, please, you know that i can't do this," I said hoping to get at least one person on my side but he wagged his head, his eyes also reddened in pain. "We showed you kindness by opening our door to you, and this is how you repay us," Harvey said grievously, and when I was about to speak, he silenced me with his hands. "I don't want to hear your nonsense! Guards! Lock her up, and by sunrise tomorrow we will decide her fate," he ordered. "Harvey, I didn't do this, please you have to listen to me," I cried out, tears rolling down my eyes as two huge Gamma werewolves walked up to me, and grabbing me on each arm they dragged me out of the mansion. My heart ached badly when they cast me into the cell sliding the iron gate shut, and as they left, I wrapped my arm around the iron rods, peering out at them. "Please you have to let me out of here, I didn’t do it, I didn’t kill the Alpha," I cried out once more but they turned deaf ears to my plea. Tears poured down my eyes again and I ran my hand through my brunette hair gently dropping myself on the floor. It was only my third night among my kin and I was already missing my father. I thought coming to this Island and living among my kind will make me understand who I am better but right now it seemed like I made a terrible mistake. Perhaps my father was right, I shouldn't have come here, I should have remained with him, living a comfortable life in the human city. Still sobbing, a cruel laughter broke the silence and I turned around to see Elise standing a few feet away from the prison gate. Her eyes were swimming in joy. "It feels good to see you suffer Andrea Henderson," she said, almost bursting out laughter. Curiosity piqued at the cold tone of her voice. "It was you all along, you were the one who killed Alpha Cullen," I said and she frowned immediately. "Me? You must be mistaken, because I had nothing to do with the Alpha's death. However, I am also sure you don't have the nerves to commit such a serious crime," she laughed. "Why then are you doing this to me? If you know that I am innocent then, why frame me for it?" She chuckled then stepped forward. "Isn't it obvious?" she asked as I squinted my eyes curiously. "I see the way Harvey stares at you ever since you joined the pack. It's obvious that he might fall in love with you, and I can't let that happen, so I thought if I could put you in his bad list then I can prevent that from happening." The smile on her face vanished as she frowned. "Harvey can only be mine, and I will get rid of anyone that stands in our way even if it means putting them to death," she hissed, glaring at me once more as she left the prison. I leaned my back against the iron gate, still sobbing. If Elise didn't kill the Alpha, then who is responsible for his death? My thoughts were driving me crazy and I couldn't help but weep until sunrise the next day. As the day got brighter the guards brought me out of the prison as they set me before Harvey and his mother. The entire pack were gathered in the main hall, ready to declare judgment on me. "The council has decided your punishment Andrea Henderson," Harvey spoke up. "This is treason and According to our law you are to be put to death, but because of our history with your mother we have reduced your sentence. You are hereby banished from the pack. You will not join yourself with another clan, nor are you permitted to leave this Island. You will live as a lone wolf and if you break any of these rules, we will come for you and we will put you to death." Tears welled up in my eyes when those words escaped the lips of the man my heart ached for. I wanted to tell him everything but even if I did, he would not believe me. "Harvey," I muttered, my heart still aching as I had flashbacks of all our pleasant times together these past three days. His salutations and the romantic way he stared at me, each morning when he sought to meet me in the flowering garden at the back of the courtyard. "Harvey," I whispered but this time more audibly as he removed his gaze from me. "Take her out of my sight," he ordered, those words sending a spear through my chest, as tears rolled down my cheek once more. I had another glimpse of his countenance and then left the mansion being escorted by the Gamma werewolves.
