Right as my twin was about to die, I connected eyes with the most beautiful women I've ever seen. Long dark brown curls fall down her back, half of them up in a messy bun on her head.
Wow, she has a lot of hair.
Piercing blue eyes bore into my dark ones, and my breath caught in my throat. Her skin is tan, standing out against her white sweater. She is the most beautiful person I'd ever seen.
MATE! MATE! MATE! Sage shouted in my head.
I vaguely registered that Acaisia whispered something, but I couldn't tell you what she said. My body froze as I stared into the women's eyes. I knew my mate would be female.
Sage practically purred inside my head at the sight of our mate.
And then I dropped my sister.
"What the hell Ahkari! You dropped her!" Max exclaimed breaking my trance.
I broke eye contact with my mate to glare at Max.
"She's my twin. I'll drop her if I want to." I said snarkily.
Honestly I felt really bad but it's not like Acaisia has to know. Right?
Dropping to my knees over my sister I inspected her. Her wounds are completely healed. It doesn't seem like she has anymore of those things in her, but I think it's important we have her inspected.
Akeehla should be able to tell, and she can make a potion to cleanse her body I'm sure. Out of all of us, Akeehla is the best Witch. She'll know what to do.
"You guys are here!" Max said to the people.
These must be his friends he wanted us to meet.
"Sorry about this." He apologized to them. "The twins are still learning, and Acaisia is reckless." He grunted making me instantly annoyed.
My eyes snapped up to his, and I glared at him.
"Don't be an ass Max." I said, and someone in the room chuckled.
Honestly, I'm too afraid to see who it was.
"I am not an ass." He argued.
I raised a brow at him. Max had definitely done a lot of groveling to this family, but he so needed to. I was past giving him a hard time, but sometimes he just made it too easy.
Max sighed, and rubbed the back of his neck.
"I am not an ass anymore." He mumbled.
Standing up I placed my hands on my hips. I was ready to argue, but then realized I actually wanted his help. A smirk formed on my face.
"Than I suppose you wouldn't mind carrying my twin back to the house." I said sweetly.
"You can teleport." Max scoffed.
My smirk deepened.
"So can you. Plus, who do you think teleported the two of us back here? I don't have enough energy for that." I told him.
"But.. my friends just got here.." Max trailed off as he looked back at his friends then back to me.
I huffed, and opened my mouth, ready to argue with him until I got my way. Someone in the room cleared their throat, and my eyes snapped to the man that walkd in with my mate.
He looks like the male version of my mate. It didn't take me more than a few seconds to realize they're twins. Of course they are.
The man's eyes flickered down to my sister. Something flashed across his eyes. When he looked back at me I could see it was worry.
They are mates too. Sage told me excitedly.
Really? I asked her.
Sage nodded her little wolf head inside my mind.
"I can help you if you'd like." He offered.
I looked him up and down narrowing my eyes at him. As much as my twin tried to keep her first mate a secret I knew. She doesn't know I know, but she isn't as good at hiding things as she thinks. With what happened then, I'm going to be skeptical of this guy.
"This is my brother, Bou. And his twin, our sister, Bianca." Max introduced them.
My eyes trailed to my mate. I smiled at her, but she just gave me a blank expression. That can't be a good start.
Maybe they don't know?
"Hi." I mumbled lamely.
Bianca turned her head to Max, completely ignoring me.
"I'm sure Bou can help her out. Let's go catch up. He can meet us after." She said.
Without waiting for a response, she turned and walked out of the room. Sage whimpered in my head, and I tried to send her soothing vibes. Robby and Max followed my mate out of the room, and Bou bent down to hover over my sister.
"You're her mate?" I asked him.
Bou's eyes snapped up to mine, and he gave me a sheepish smile.
"That obvious huh?" He asked.
I nodded.
Guess that means they can tell.
"Yeah, but that's okay." I told him.
Bou scooped up my twin making sure to be careful with her. I held doors open as we walked out of the school. Bou followed me to the mansion silently. Everytime I would look over at him, he was glancing down at Acaisia. I couldn't help but giggle, not that Bou seemed to notice.
I helped Bou up the stairs to Acaisia's room. He lay her down gently on her bed, and then stepped back. I watched as Bou looked around her bedroom taking everything in. When he caught me staring, a light blush settled on his cheeks.
"Is she going to be okay?" He asked me.
I nodded.
"I'm sure it was probably scary to watch her die like that." I said. "But she will be fine. She'll wake up in about an hour probably."
Bou nodded to me, and turned his eyes back to my sister. I could tell he didn't want to leave her. Honestly, I thought it was really sweet. I'm already starting to like this guy. He already cared more for her than her first mate.
"Uhm, I guess I should go.." He trailed off.
I put my hand on his shoulder steering him to the door.
"You're right. I doubt she's going to be happy if she wakes up, and you're here." I told him.
Bou gave me a worried look making me laugh.
"My sister isn't going to be thrilled about finding her mate." I told him as I pushed him out the door of the bedroom. "Good luck. You're gonna need it."
And with that warning, I closed the door.
I leaned against the door after closing it in Bou's face. Laughing to myself I walked into the bathroom my twin and I shared. The look on Bou's face was priceless. As much as I didn't want Acaisia to torture the poor guy I knew it was inevitable. I just hoped he gave it back to her.
Running a wash cloth under some warm water I returned back to my sister. I started wiping the blood off of her. It took a while to get her clean, but eventually I had cleared up most of the blood. Pulling out my phone I looked at the date and time. Max was right, we were supposed to check in today, hours ago.
Something about that cave isn't right. Aciaisa and I were in there for maybe two hours. How did we manage to lose almost two entire days in that time?
There is no way we were asleep for that time. Otherwise I would have one of those worm, leech things in me too. Somehow the time got away from us though.
How is that possible?
I need to get Akeehla.
