The warm breeze caressed my face as I looked at the empty garden. My first visit here was... odd, to say the least, but it grew on me, and now I spend most of my free time here.
"Do you have training with Marku today?"
I turned to where the voice came from and saw Annetta approaching. She waved at me when she saw me looking, and I smiled back at her. Once she was near enough, I showed her the reply I typed on my phone.
'No. He said he'll be out on a mission.'
Annetta hummed, and then she grinned at me. "That phone is a life-saver. It's much faster and easier to type your responses than write them."
'Or maybe you can learn ASL, so I can just sign to you.'
With a scrunch of her nose, Annetta sat down next to me. I waited for my body to tense up, but aside from the fleeting anxiousness,
