Chapter - 34 One Step Closer

1107 Words
I walk outside the warehouse and it hits me, the complexity of the task. I have to deliver a bag full of cocaine without getting noticed by the police and without the spies of H.H.H knowing, I am with the police. It is going to be hard and now I know why Marty never did get into the inner circle, it’s because we come here with the hope that whatever task will be assigned, the police will help us get through it, but the reality is we are not being spied by police but also H.H.H. I walk outside trying a way to figure out a way to execute it. I walk down the alley and even though it looks like a normal alley with ton of illegal stuff happening in every corner. I can very well tell that there are spies among them, or maybe I am just being paranoid. I am not sure but whatever it is I have to be careful. I walk upto the bridge, I sit on the bench near it and inside the first chain is a chit and inside that there is an address, address of a pub where I have to deliver this bag of cocaine. I look behind me, through this bridge is a way to get the cocaine to the pub they want me to go, but there is a problem after the bridge. I know there is a whole bunch of police officers, waiting there to catch anyone involved in malicious activities. I know that because Thames was always set in that location. I place the chit back inside my bag and sit there. Planning on what to do next. I see a man with an ice cream cart, on my left staring at me, when I look at him, he turns away. Just next to me, I see a couple sitting on another bench and I know that they are cops because I recognise them and plus they were about to nod when I turned towards the ice-cream man. I know that they must be clearly confused, but I can’t exactly tell them I am being spied. I sit there with my bag and a police officer starts to approach towards me, “hello ma’am what are you doing here, it is late.” Instead of looking I start crying. I can tell he is one of the police officers who has no clue, I am a cop. “ma’am I am really sorry. Is everything okay?” I start crying hysterically and from my corner of the eye I see the ice-cream man pull out a gun and point at me. God they are really going to kill me. “What would you do instead of me sir. Tell me. I was going to get married to my boyfriend, we had been in a relationship for ten damn years and now he is cheating on me, today I called him here to give him back all the gifts and he said he would come on time, but that son of a b***h, that motherfucking man, fuckward has no respect for time, that bastard must be f*****g that cunt Lara. Well f**k him. I don’t care. What would you do officer huh.” I know policemen all too well. They themselves curse like a madman, but when they see a girl cursing and that to over a man. They run away like crazy. The same thing happens. “I am sorry ma’am. I have to go” Hah stupid. “I thought you would be different officer, but apparently all men are the same, the moment you ask for one damn answer, they are to go. f*****g cowards.” The policeman rushes back to his post and I stifle a laugh. I walk upto the ice- cream man, “Can I get an ice- cream?” He smiles politely, so politely that if I hadn’t seen him point a gun at me, just a second ago. I would have believed he is a good man. “yes ma’am, which flavour?” I walk up beside him and quickly pull out the gun from his outside jacket pocket. Stupid person, nobody should keep the gun in the outer pocket. Now with my hand on the gun, I feel a bit more confidence. “Kind sir, I how about you fill the cocaine in your ice- cream truck, hide it under the ice and ice-cream and fill my back with some ice creams.” He smiles, so tightly, that it feels his teeth will fall off. He hides the cocaine inside the cart and covers it with ice – cream and meanwhile also fills my bag with ice-creams. The ice cream man walks ahead of me, while I follow him, wiping off the fingerprint and throwing the gun off the bridge. I follow and start acting suspicious, because I know, if I act suspicious the cart man get a clear entry to the bar. And as expected, few cops dressed as time-pass gun start to tease me, while I trying to pretend that these people are scaring me. I see the ice- cream man being stopped by a police man. I could see the red spot od sniper rifle on his back and without even seeing, I knew one was on my back too. I pretend to cower, but I started to get scared a little, but just one minute after. I am being pulled into an alley, while I see ice-cream man, get inside with the drugs. I prepare myself to fight off, just incase these police officers are corrupt and are actually trying to rape me. But as expected they check my bag and find only ice- cream. They sigh, all disappointed. “sorry ma’am for the trouble, we are cops we just thought you had drugs.” I just nod as if in shock, I know the very angry woman approach I took earlier won’t work here. I act traumatised and slowly walk out. I walk inside the bar and see the man with a scar sitting in one of the booths. I slide on the opposite side. “Your work is done”, I say. He smirks, “Smooth work, I must say.” He slides his beer bottle towards me. I push it back and pull out an ice cream box. “Victory is sweet.”, I say as I raised my spoon filled ice- cream in air as a mock toast and he laughs as he raises his beer. Times flies as I eat and he drinks in silence.
