It was a few minutes before noon when the Mercedes pulled up to the kerb—I may have been keeping watch through the curtains of the front window. I was aware when James arrived outside my flat and had the door opened to allow him entry. “James.” I tried to keep my smile smoothly professional, but I was so bloody happy to have him in my flat again. “Green eyes,” he murmured, since I had my contacts in.
