Chapter 9Gracie goes home…
The next night as Adam watched Phoenix dance, he thought of the amulet and dug into his pockets for it, but he couldn’t find it. His thoughts went back to the night he and Phoenix were out at Gracie’s, and Phoenix threw it at the demon. He hadn’t seen it since then and wondered if it was still at Gracie’s place. He had to get that amulet back, so he looked up at Phoenix, still dancing across the stage. He needed to get a message to him, so he turned and ran down the winding stairs to the concierge’s station and scribbled something down on a piece of note paper.
Pushing it in Leonard’s hand, he said, “See that Phoenix gets this when he gets offstage.”
“I’ll be glad to, sir.”
