1142 Words
The pain was just too much for him and his wolf to bear, they had been looking forward to this for over five years now, and he could not believe this was happening to them again. He could not stand the look of pain in his mate's eyes when it came out stillborn, this was the third one they were losing and the pack doctors had not been able to find out why this was happening, they were supposed to be wolves and not humans, cases like this has never been recorded in the werewolf history, wolves were known for their abilities to reproduced healthy pups, could it be that they were cursed by a witch? Is the moon goddess angry with them and has refused to them a child? What could be the problem here? Their case was some mystery that even the pack doctors could not say what the cause of it. Finley knew better than to stay around in the clinic if his wolf decided to go on a killing spree, it happened the first with his wolf losing it and almost killing everyone close by, his twin sister had stopped him but not without some of the nurses getting hurt, so he quickly changed into his wolf and ran out of the clinic before his wolf lost when he heard the news that Eva had lost their baby. To avoid any disasters from happening he decided to go for a run to help his wolf get over the hurt and pain of losing another pup because wolves tend to protect their pup like a mother hen. As he runs through the forest feeling hurt and disappointed that the moon goddess has forsaken him yet again by taking the baby away from him before he could even hold him in his arms, he never realises he is in tears until he feels the wetness in his face and his wolf howls in pain. His pride has been hurt due to this and he could not do anything to overcome the hurt and pain he was feeling now. Running in the forest has always helped him overcome his pains and calm his wolf whenever he was angry. " Why, moon goddess?" He cried out in pain as he thought of the fact that this was the third child they had both lost in five years, Eva always struggles to get pregnant and after going through the pain that comes with being pregnant the child always refuses to stay. " Why make her pregnant when you know she was not going to live to see the child live?" He howls in pain. " What offence did I commit that made you refuse to give us the joy of having our child?" He continues to question the moon goddess. The sadness he felt was too extreme and he could not control the tears as they flowed from his eyes, he growled in frustration as he could not understand why the moon goddess mocked them by giving them children that don't live to see the day. His wolf continued to race around in the forest in anger. " The pup is gone, Finley," His wolf howled in pain. Finley had no answer but only looked up and cried in pain to the one he believed had the answer. " Why am I So unlucky? Why are my pups refusing to stay? I demand an answer, moon goddess" " Finley this is the third pup in five years" His wolf gowls in anger. His wolf was right, he had friends who already had two, some three children and here he was still struggling to get a child. He has been made fun of by his friends, some even mock that he got himself a witch who kills her kids before they see the light of day. His wolf continued to howl in pain as he recalled the death of the pups, he could not come to terms with the loss His mate has been traumatized several times and had to be admitted to the hospital because of the trauma of the loss and this always breaks his heart to see her go through such traumas because of the loss of those children. He suddenly changes back to his human form and lies on the ground while rolling on the ground in the forest and wishes he could just die because of the shame and humiliation he had suffered and would suffer because his mate could not make the child stay. Finley happens to belong to the family of warriors, he is a great warrior himself and he had hoped he would get a child that would take on his family name. They were known to be a great warrior in the pack, they were in charge of training pack members and this goes back from generation to generation, they were well respected in the pack, and no one in his generation had ever experienced what he was going through with his mate. He sometimes wonders if a curse has been placed on him since he could not bring offspring to the world, he wonders if he has offended any witch that placed the curse on him. His twin sister on the other hand already had two pups while he was yet to have any. " Why make a fool of me? Moon goddess, I need an answer," He demands while looking up at the sky hoping he can see the one whom he was questioning. " When are you going to remove this reproach from my life?" He snorted while wailing on the ground, his wolf howled in sadness. Suddenly he heard a cry and wondered what it was that was crying out in the forest at this early hour of the day, being the warrior that he was, he stood up boldly, he forgot about his problems for a moment and decided to follow the direction of the cry, he became very alert as he looks around him, he was being very careful so that he would not be attacked unexpectedly. As he moved toward the cry he saw something wrapped in some clothes lying near a riverbank, he looked around with his wolf eyes to see if there was anyone around but found there was no one and wondered what was wrapped by the riverbank. He was shocked by what he saw by the riverbank and wondered how it got there. He looked around one more time to see if there was anyone close by and wondered why something as precious as this would be left all alone in the forest. What kind of a sick joke is this? Who would do this in the pack? He moved closer to have a better look and he was met with a beautiful surprise.
