Chapter 3Ian awoke with a smile on his face. He had fallen asleep on top of Khnurn, and as alive as his mother was always saying they were, Ian knew that they quite literally slept like the dead. Khnurn moved beneath him, and opened his eyes. Ian practically jumped off of him. “I’m sorry, but we can live for a million years, and I will never quite understand what happens to our bodies while we sleep. Obviously, I was used to waking up with bad breath before you gave me Evening Life, but this is absolutely foul,” Ian said, moving off the bed and toward the bedroom door. “Your body is stronger now. It’s more protective, and more efficient. It will take out the slightest thing that it deems harmful. Unfortunately, your mouth is one of the best ways that it detoxifies you,” Khnurn explained.
