Chapter 2Khnurn stayed wrapped around Ian for what he guessed was close to an hour, in silence. Then they’d spent the rest of the night in the living room talking. The night had passed quickly, and Ian had gone to bed. “I’ll join you in a minute,” Khnurn had said. He went back into the kitchen, watching the night sky, wanting to savor it for just a moment before he went to bed. He wondered for just a second how many more minutes it would be until the sun came up. Time was sometimes easy and sometimes hard to tell for Khnurn. How many years had he been alive?
