I couldn't understand why I was stopping her from leaving. For a fleeting moment, I wanted her to stay, just a little while longer. What the actual f**k is wrong with me?
"What did you say? I couldn't hear you properly," she says, waiting for me to repeat myself.
"It's nothing. You can leave," I say, my voice betraying a hint of reluctance.
"If you want me to stay with you, I have no problem doing that. You can spend some time with Liam," she offers, hoping I'll agree.
