Samantha’s Point of View
Marriage? The Lycan King? No!
No. No. No, this wasn’t happening. Why would they send me to my early grave this way? That man would kill me if I made even the slightest mistake.
Why would they insist that I get married to the Lycan King? The man is cruel. No woman who has been offered to him as a bride has ever lived.
Tears fell from my eyes as I looked at my parents explaining to me what was just decided by the council. I want to scream at the top of my voice but I can't. I keep telling myself this is just another one of my nightmares.
“I am sorry baby,” Mum said, coming closer to me as I shook my head. This wasn’t happening. I can’t be married to a wicked man.
“Or we could leave,” my father suggested as I widened my eyes to look at him. He was not being serious right now. We can’t just run away from our responsibility.
“Dad”
“IF you don’t want to marry him. Then don’t. We can leave the pack and they can decide what they want to do.” He stood up from the chair he was sitting on, approaching where I was sitting on the bed.
“You wanted to do this, so yes. Let's leave,” He added as I swallowed hard. I can’t ask my family to do that for me. Rogue life is hard. They would not make it out there.
“No, I can’t let you do that,” I said, standing up from the bed as I paced around the room.
” I will get married to him, but I want my rank restored to what it was. I am not going to get married as an omega,” I said to them as my family inhaled sharply.
“Okay. Anything else?”
He asked sarcastically, as if I was requesting the impossible as I swallowed hard.
“Isabella is coming with me,” I stated.
My mother pursed her lips, looking at me with tears in her eyes. “I will tell the Alpha what you want,” my father says to me as I nod my head, looking at him.
“Thank you,” I said to him as he nodded. Walking out of my room, I sighed heavily going to rest on the bed. I was going to be offered to a cruel man as my husband. I promised myself that I would be strong.
‘We will be fine I assured Lexa as I sat down on the bed, I was going to wait to hear what the Alpha will say to my demands.

The next morning, I woke up and went to the living room. Since I wasn’t allowed to leave the house, I just went to get breakfast and headed back to my room.
I just wanted to be left alone for now, since I knew my fate was already sealed. I just had to make sure that I get what I want as well.
I decided to look up the Lycan king to see if I could find any pictures of him. After all, we live in a modern world.
I looked up his name, but nothing came up from the search. I can only see the news about his pack, but nothing about them.
Having to give up, I throw the phone away and lay back thinking about what I am going to do. I can only hope the Alpha agrees because, looking at the fortress I just saw, I will need someone I know to come with me.
A knock came on the door and picking up the scent, I instantly knew who it was. “Dad,” I said, sitting up on the bed as he got into the room.
“What did he say?” I anxiously wait for his response, but he just lowers his head without saying anything to me. He looks disappointed, but I am hoping that he can at least let me have both.
“Dad?”
“He asked that you choose between the two of your demands. Either your rank or your friend,” he said to me as I pursed my lips together. I can’t have an omega on my marriage certificate to that cruel man.
“Really? That’s just it? Do I get to choose between my friend and my rank? Oh, my god,” I said, standing up as tears fell from my eyes.
I have to give up two of the things I can’t let go of. ‘Take the Rank,’ Lexa argued as I shook my head. I couldn’t leave Isabella here with these people. Even though I have no idea where I am going, I would rather she comes with us.
“I will go with Isabella”
I said to my father as he turns to look at me just to make sure that I was sure of what I wanted to do.
“Are you sure? You can never come back to claim your rank?”
He said to me as I nodded my head. “I will need a friend while I am there, so would rather be with someone I know,” I said to him and he nodded his head, standing up from the bed.
“I will let him know and we can communicate to them when we can take you to the borders,” He said to me and stood up, walking away. I knew that once they took me to the borders, then that was it for me.
I sighed heavily, sitting down on the bed as I sighed.
‘How could you choose Isabella over your rank?’ She napped as I swallowed hard, ignoring her. I wasn’t about to discuss the fact they didn’t want to give me back my rank. It was just a title, but Isabella was my friend who has been there for me.

After having dinner, I decided to head over to Isabella’s quarters so that I could talk to her about the fact that we were going together.
I reached her quarters wanting to knock on the door but I heard someone whimpering, ‘Isabella?” I knocked and I could tell it was her crying.
‘Isabella! Open the f*****g door” I shouted, banging as loud as I could on the door but she was opening it. I tried to reach her through our link but she was blocking me.
“Isabella, open the f*****g door before I kick it door” I shouted banging on the door but she wasn’t open. I stepped back kicking the door the first time and it doesn’t open.
‘Sam, Please I don’t want to talk’ she linked me but I wasn’t going to walk away.
‘Then open the f*****g door. Because I am not going anywhere, I replied, kicking it again, and I heard her shift in her movement, the sound of keys jingling as I sigh, pacing around the door.
She opened the door, and she had bruises on her face. “Isabella. What happened” I reached cupping her face as she shook her head.
“Who did this to you?” I asked, checking all the bruises on her body as she shook her head.
‘Isabella, I am not asking you. I need you to tell me who it is,” I snapped at her as she lowered her head, tears falling from her eyes.
“What are you going to do?
Try to fight them again? Break someone’s ribs again? I told you don’t get in trouble. Now, look at you, about to get married to that cruel man.”
She complained to me as I pursed my lips together, nodding my head.
“They did this to you?”
I asked her as tears filled my eyes. I caused all this. This is all my fault?
“It doesn’t matter. Please, just stay out of trouble,” she said, limping to her couch as I let out an exasperated sigh, looking at her. Where was David?
“I am sorry,” I apologised, going to sit on the couch next to her as he nodded her head. “Don’t worry about it. I will be fine,” she replied as I sighed heavily, tucking some strands of hair behind her ear.
“Why are you here?
What did your father decide?” She asked me as I sighed heavily.
“I asked for something from the alpha,” I said to her and she widened her eyebrows, looking at me.
“Really?”
I nod.
“I asked him for my rank back,” I said to her and she smiled at me, waiting for me to tell her everything
“Unfortunately, I can’t have it back because of what happened,” I said to her, and she swallowed hard, shaking my head.
“I was hoping you would come with me to Sky City,” I said to her as she widened her eyes. “What?”
“Yes. I want you to come with me instead,” I said to her hoping she wouldn’t say no.
“Please don’t tell me you traded your rank for me,” she said to me as I pursed my lips together, nodding my head.
“You will just be a mere breeder to him. How could you do something so stupid?” She scolded me as I swallowed, looking into her eyes.
“I don’t care about everything else. What happens to me doesn’t matter to me? I just want you there with me,” I insisted to her, and she whimpered, shaking her head.
“Why are you always putting me in a tight spot?” She asked me as I chuckled, playing with my hands. “So, what do you think? Want to come with me?” I asked her and she nodded her head, wrapping her arms around my neck and holding me tight.
I decided to sponge her before heading back home. I knew dad and mum would probably be sleeping since it was almost midnight.
I turned on the light and found dad coming downstairs. “Dad”
“The people will be here to sign the treaty tomorrow evening. Make sure you get ready to present yourself before them,” He said and turned on his heel without letting me even have a word with him.
The Lycans were coming to our pack? Why so soon?

The following morning when I woke up, I decided to make sure that I wash my hair and fix my hair. I applied some light makeup since I was going to be going into town before coming back/.
If I was leaving town, I needed to make sure that I say goodbye to a few people. I did a side part and wore jeans with a white button-down shirt.
I grabbed my things and went downstairs. Looking around, I noticed that mum wasn’t there and David must have left.
I could feel someone’s presence in the room, but I wondered who could have the guts to come in here without knocking. I sniffed the air and I could recognise that cologne anywhere.
Austin.
“Running away?” He sneaked up behind me as I turned to look at him.
“Austin. What are you doing here?” I asked looking around as he chuckled coming towards me, “I am curious, why did you decide to get married to the King?” He walked towards me and I watched him grab a knife from the table.
“So you f*****g cheat on me, and decide to get married to the Lycan King?” He asked me as I clenched a fist, hoping he doesn’t try to do anything we might both regret.
“I didn’t decide this. They want someone to be able to strengthen the alliance. I was merely…”
I wanted to say but he throw the knife and I dodged it gasping as I saw it fall to the ground after hitting the wall
” Don’t you f*****g lie to me” he fumed, his eyes darkening as I panted, holding my chest.
“You will leave. Write a note and leave. Don’t show your face at the…”
“I can’t do that. I would become a rogue. Where would I go?” I asked him, cutting him short, and he swiftly moved to grab me by my throat as I choked on my breath.
“I f*****g care. Just leave,” He barked, threatening his grip.
“Let go of her!” A deep icy voice commanded Austin, sending shivers down my spine as well as Austin let go of me and I choked, gasping for air.
His aura was too powerful in the room. I could feel Lexa was terrified already.
I turned to the door where the voice came from. I have never seen him before. He was easily six feet tall. He wore a black shirt that fitted his broad shoulders, almost rippling through his muscles, and a black pair of jeans tucked in his black combat boots.
He has jet-black curly mid-length hair. His eyes were sky blue with the palest eyelashes and high chiselled cheekbones as I swallowed dared.
‘And who the hell do you think you are commanding me?” Austin asked, turning to the man as I swallowed hard.
What was Austin thinking?
This was not an ordinary wolf.
‘Austin’
I tried to link him and he turned, growling at me as the man chuckled. In a swift move, he grabbed Austin by the neck, throwing him out of the house.
I saw Austin roll off the ground as I gasped wondering what was happening, “Are you okay?” He asked trying to help me stand up as I moved back from him.
“Don’t worry. I won’t hurt you” A smile curved up on his lips as I shook my head. I couldn’t trust him. The mark on his wrist said it all.
“Let me help you,” He said to me as I stood up and placed my hand in his.
“Are you okay? Would you like anything to…” he wanted to ask me as I shook my head. I was fine. I didn’t need his help to get anything.
“If you are fine then, I will leave you to it,” he said to me. Before I could say anything, he walked away as I peeped through the window to check if Austin was still there.
I grabbed a glass, got some water from the tap and I took deep breaths, thinking about what had just happened.
A knock came on the door and I turned around to see who it was. The Alpha’s guard? What was he doing here?
“Esteban, what are you doing?” I asked, turning to him as I grabbed my phone. “The Alpha would like to see you,” He said to me as I swallowed hard, wondering if Austin had accused me of what happened.
“Why? Does he need something from me?” I asked him as he lowered his head without saying anything to me. This must be serious if he can send his men to come and get me.
“Oaky. Let me get…” I want to head upstairs, but he blocks my way as I sigh heavily. This is all Austin. I am certain he went to whine about what happened like a little b***h.
‘Lead the way,” I said to him as I followed him behind to the pack house. I sighed heavily, following him behind as Isabella stood afar, watching me.
‘IS everything okay?’
She linked to me.
‘I don’t know. Will tell you whatever happens’ I replied, getting into the pack house. “He is waiting for you,” he said, gesturing to the meeting room as I took a deep breath walking towards the room.
I push the door open, getting in hoping Austin didn’t accuse me of anything. The aura in the room is too strong. There are strangers in the room.
A strong perfume hits my nostrils and I can’t keep but shift my head to my left. Three men are wearing the same outfit as the man who helped me earlier and, on my right, three other men are standing with their hands clasped in front.
They are about the same height as that man. I shift my head to look at the table, and he smiles when he looks at me.
Please don’t tell me this is the Lycan King. My eyes drift between my father and the man standing before me, then back to the Alpha. No. This was not happening.
I was dreaming.
