Elena POV
Whatever happened, I've learnt to be strong.I wasn't this easily brought down but he let me in and pushed me away.That was the worst way of breaking someone.
I tried not to think about him but I couldn't stop myself.
It was obvious for him to love his wife.I was just a no one.Maxi has been taking care of my case and I was thankful.
I also had to distance myself from Maxi after what he did.
I didn't like him.I didn't want to engage in any sort of activities with him.
There was a knock on my door.
"Come in." said I.
Maximilian peeked through the door before entering.
He sat in the chairs in front of my desk.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Woah,why so angry?" He asked.
"I don't want you around me." I whispered.
"That's how you treat your best friend huh?" He asked.
"First, you are not my best friend.You are a f*****g dirty person." I raised my tone.
"Look,that was a mistake.It has been a few days.You haven't forgotten about it." He murmured.
"You touched me in a way you shouldn't have and you are asking me why?"
"Elena.I am sorry.I just lose control over myself sometimes." He narrowed his head.
"Whatever.Leave me be." I whispered.
"I can't deal with your patient,Elena." He sighed.
"What? Why?" I asked.
"Every single time I walk into his ward,he says that he wants to talk to you.He wants to apologize for disrespecting someone like you.I am tired of listening and telling him the same thing.It's been a lot of days Elena.That man just wants to talk to you." He said.
"That man is a f*****g psychopath." I replied.
"And you couldn't handle treating him for only 4 days?" I asked.
"That's more than you." He winked.
"That's is absolutely not true and unnecessary so get out now.Don't bother me." I said.
"Life really changed you,El." He whispered as he smiled.
"It was meant to be." I looked down at the paper.
"Leave it.Just listen to me.You go talk with the patient-"
"No."
"Okay."
What did he want? I didn't want anything to do with him.

It was unbearable for James to stay here all alone.He just wanted to go home.
Sara,the nurse walked into his room with dinner.
"Hello,miss." James called out to her.
"Yes,Mr.Redfield." She looked at him.
"Please,get Dr.Alvarez for me.Please." He whispered.
"I-"
"I know she doesn't want to be disturbed but please do something." He pleaded.
"I...will let her know about it." Sara replied.
She placed the dinner food in front of him and left the room.There was Maximilian standing.
"What did he say?" He asked.
"Just like we expected,he asked for Elena.I can't even see that poor dude in this condition.He literally cried asking for her." Sara sighed.
"Do you really think that he is cheating on his wife with Elena?" Sarah asked Maxi.
"I feel like it because everything that's been happening makes no sense to me at all.Moreover,Bradley told me that he saw them together.He didn't reveal all the details though." Maxi said.
"I have a plan."

I looked through the window.It rained every night.The weather was somewhat romantic and somewhat gloomy.
I looked behind when the door opened.It was Maxi, again.
"There's this new patient.Bradley wants you to take the case." He said.
"New patient? How? At this hour?" I asked.
"Yes,go he is waiting!" He said.
I immediately grabbed my stethoscope and followed Maximilian but I wasn't liking where he was taking me.
It was the fifth floor.I sighed.
When he brought me in front of cabin 359,I was about to yell at him but he grabbed me so aggressively and his movements were so sudden that I couldn't react.As he pushed me inside the cabin and locked the door from outside.
"Open the door,Maxi.This isn't funny." I banged the door but he didn't open.
"Damn it." I punched the wooden door as I rested my head on the door.
I didn't have the energy to turn around.
"Elena."
The voice shredded me into a million pieces.It felt like I haven't heard it for so long.
I didn't say anything.
He placed his hands on my shoulders from behind.
"Elena,I am sorry." His voice was husky.His voice was trembling.
"I wish I could take it back.I didn't realize how much I wanted you and how much I needed you." He whispered.
"Don't leave me." His voice made my heart stop.He embraced me from behind and leaned his head on mine.
"You mean something to me." He whispered.
"I don't want you to ever leave me." He added.
"Get your hands off me." I whispered.
"I won't." He whispered.
He made me turn around and wiped my tears.
"Don't cry.I can't see you cry." He whispered.
"It was my fault.I will never be your first priority.You have a wife, a family and I came to ruin it all.I want to forget about you so you can forget about me and move on." I whispered.
"What about how we feel for each other?" He asked.
"You told me you would never choose me over your wife.Why do you even expect that I will stand here and give you another chance?" I tried to break free.
"Please,stay." He pleaded.
"Maxi! Open the door!" I slapped hardly on the door.
"Don't go!" He embraced me tightly.
"Go to hell!" I yelled as the door opened and I ran off with tears.

Elena broke down in tears as she locked the door of her chamber.She fell to the ground and cried like a person who's world just collapsed.
Maximilian rushed into James's room just to find him crying to.
"I lost a gem." He whispered as he turned towards Maxi.
"She will come around.You mean a lot to her." Maxi comforted James.
"She won't.I've said terrible things to her,making her feel like a second choice.Can you tell her that she is more than that to me?" He trembled.
"James, brother, don't you have a wife? Should you be doing this?" Maxi asked, intentionally provoking him to let go of her so he can win her.
"I do but what can I do? I am in love with her!"
