CELESTE
“You did a great job, Liza,” Jade said when she saw us.
I admit the b***h did great because I can’t see the bruises on my face or shoulders.
“Of course, Mom,” Liza answered, standing firm and proud.
I wanted to roll my eyes, but I stopped myself. When I turned my gaze to the left, I saw Noah staring at me—it seemed like he had memorized every angle of my body.
I looked at myself and pulled the hem of this simple sleeveless black dress. Damn, how could this dress don’t reach my knees? I know I am taller than Liza, so that’s why.
I clenched my jaw when Noah didn’t bother to look away. Is he still thinking that he can have me?
‘Oh, dream on, demon. You will never have me.’
But the fact that he had already touched and seen every part of my body wanted me to cut his shaft and kill him.
Now that I will have the opportunity to see outside, I need to plan how to escape.
“Why do I feel like you will do something stupid?” And here he comes, playing like a fortuneteller.
“Noah,” it’s a warning from his mother.
I saw how Noah glanced at his mom and frowned. “I have a bad feeling, Mom. You know me. This b***h—”
“That’s why we must not let her escape our sight!” I could feel the madness that played within Jade’s heart.
Oh, boy, you’re just causing trouble. That’s it, start a war, and I don’t f*****g care.
They’re just giving me entertainment. And I can’t wait the time to escape.
I am so fed up. I am done with all their cruelness. I am trying to be strong, and my father’s last words on my birthday always remind me to be.
‘Be strong, be brave. Your mother and I are always on your side.’ Ten years ago… this is what my father told me.
I took a deep breath, and my hand unconsciously touched my necklace.
My eyes widened when I felt something—it seemed like it was a bolt of energy. Weird.
“I told you. I will stay—”
“Shut up!” Jade exclaimed as she turned to me. “Liza, let her wear a watch or something—”
“Mom, her necklace is fine. And I have been so curious since day one,” Liza’s brow arched, and she crossed her arms in front of her chest, “where did she get that dainty necklace, Mom? Is it made of real gold?”
I clenched my left fist and never left Liza’s gaze.
‘What are you planning, b***h?’ I thought.
“Ah, that’s the only thing her father gave her. And Heron told me not ever to touch that.”
“I like it, Mom. Can I have it? Besides her father, Heron is already dead—”
Jade let out a devilish chuckle. “Sorry, sweetie. It’s the only thing that she had from her father. Heron’s company and assets are already in Noah’s hands, and he can buy you more than that.”
Wickedness is already dressed for these people. I know about Dad’s company, but ever since they locked me up here, full custody was given to Jade, and she gave it to her son.
Great!
I did ask Jade once about my father’s last will—I’m sure Dad made one since he told me about it. And I don’t know why he had to do it so early, and when the accident came, I just realized his purpose.
But Jade beat me that day and told me not to mention it again.
And now, she gave it to Noah?
Great.
“Okay, I want the same style as hers.”
“Babe, why do you need to copy this lowly human?” Noah’s being haughty strike the chilly air unguarded. And his stupid fiancé encircled her arms around Noah’s nape and pouted her lips like a duck.
Seriously?
They’re going to do crazy stuff again.
“Enough with that. You can continue that in the hotel. It’s getting late,” Jade interrupted, and one moment, I wanted to burst into laughter.
However, I held myself and followed Jade when she called me.
Jade opened the door, and the cold air entered and embraced me for the first time. My body trembled slightly as I set foot on the outside.
My feeling was so new when I saw those lights surrounding the driveway. The trees and leaves that are being swayed by the wind give a calm vibe to me. Even though the sky started to shade in darkness, I could see how the stars tried to shine at their best. I looked around above and tried to find the moon, and I saw it on the left, big and round. It is glimmering at me, giving me hope.
“It’s a full moon, huh,” I heard Liza’s voice. “The moon is even more beautiful than you, Celeste,” she added, making me turn to her side.
She arched her brow and lingered her arm into Noah. I looked up and saw Noah’s gaze on me. I smiled at them.
“It’s okay,” I replied.
Liza rolled her eyeballs at me and walked towards the limousine that stopped before us.
“Don’t waste your time on the rug, baby,” Noah suddenly uttered.
Rug?
“Of course, baby. It’s just that Celeste irritates me big time,” Liza said.
I heard Jade’s chuckles. “Don’t mind her, sweetie. Get in,” she said.
Birds with the same feathers flock together.
“And Celeste, will you please walk faster?” Jade’s gaze pierced into mine, making me nod my head in response. “Sit beside me,” she added as she entered.
I didn’t dare to talk as the car traveled to somewhere I didn’t know. I let myself get drowned by the beauty of the outside. For a decade, I had the opportunity to see it.
Should I be grateful to Jade?
Oh, well, she has no choice but to bring me through.
Noah and Liza were sitting in front of us and doing their thing—making out. In contrast, Jade is drinking some wine.
I heaved a soft sigh when the atmosphere was not as tense as it used to be when I was with them. It’s maybe because of the vibe that I am feeling now.
I badly needed the plan to escape.
