(Rose) The sound of steady beeping rang through my ears as I waved through the unconsciousness in my mind. The scent of antiseptic and methylated spirit made my nose itch in irritation. I groaned as I fought to open my eyes, each eyelid feeling as though it bore the weight of the entire world. My sight was blurry as I took in my pure white surroundings. I squeezed my eyes again desperate to get rid of the blurriness I had been plagued with.
