Weston I was sure that I would have nothing but time, time to watch, to wait, and to get my sweet baby girl back with me. I never should have rushed her away with me. I knew better. That one little taste of her bleeding brow, I was hooked. My body was on fire after I killed my wife. I wanted to drink that little baby girl dry. Now, here I am hunting scum down by the docks. I live in the shadows. These drunks don't know what hit them. But my plan is to head to see the Alpha. We knew eachother from school, many years ago. He was one of my professors. I stayed in touch with him after the fued between us had become tolerable. I explained to him that we had a dangerous witch at Starling castle, one that Howle had fallen for. The old Alpha was intrigued by my concerns. Aries Maelstrom invited me to his home. Me a fuc*** vampire. I packed later that night and made my way to the regional airport. I was going to put my plan into place. I adjusted my emerald ring that bore my family's crest. I stared at the gothic looking bat engraved into the large green stone. My face lifted into what one would call a smile. I felt my heart beating. This was the after effect of drinking from Kennedy's life force. This was her allure. My wife and my son learned her secret powers. I could replicate this, get some children from her. Of course I could not be the father, I needed pure human blood to father Kennedy's babies. I rubbed my hands together as I thought of the endless possibilities to becoming a farmer of sorts. I smiled, this time I laughed too. ************* Lucas I was so distracted by my recent position at the historical society that I didn't hear her enter. I had been processing the requests of local libraries to borrow some of Kennedy's family's books. I sat down as I wrote myself a note. " Excuse me?" She held her hat in her hands and looked up expectantly. " Oh, damn...I'm so sorry. I forgot to call you. I can't go out tonight, I'm up to my fangs in chaos here." Love bird looked at me with those big green eyes. She didn't complain, she just swiped everything off of my desk with her hand in the air, not actually touching anything herself and sat right on top of it. " I'm here now. Time to focus on me, my needs and Howle said I cannot go alone, you are my chaperone." I was pissed. My desk was all over the floor. I ignored her and bent over to pick up all of my papers. As I placed them in piles on my desk, a wind mysteriously kicked up and they flew right off again. Now I was livid. I grabbed her wrists and shook her. " Stop doing that damn it!" I yelled in her face. She swung her feet around and slid off my desk and quickly walked out the door. She wasn't going to go out tonight. Kennedy walked down the hall and out the door to the roof. She looked over the edge and watched all the people moving about below the tall historical building. It was beginning to get dark. The moon was full tonight. "I'm done with his nerdy side. I miss the man that only wanted to be with me, taste me, love me." I surprised her by being right behind her. She looked at me, then shook her head. " I might as well be invisible. I swear I'm done this time, I really am. You can go suck a lemon." She climbed over the side of the building and down the fire ladder, descending to the ground below. I watched her get into her car in the narrow ally and drive away. I couldn't go after her, I had decided to let her go. I couldn't love her the way she wanted me to, as a human. I was a vampire, that was who I always was. I went back to my office and picked up my papers. On the floor where she had been standing was an envelope. It had her name on it. I opened it up. It was an invitation to the annual gala, Robby asked her to attend with him this year. She had tucked a check inside for one hundred thousand euros made out to the historical society. She was funding my preservation projects. I placed the envelope into my breast pocket. I should have stopped to talk to her, at least thank her for the donation. My phone rang. " She's at that steak place, she is doing the steak eating challenge. She bought three rounds of beer so far, it's a f*****g mess Luke." June said. She had been keeping close tabs on Kennedy, without her knowledge. I couldn't go get get her, I was keeping away from her. " Send Rena." I said flatly. "Well, she is away, she drove down to Howle's house in the country to take care of business for him there." June smiled to herself. " You go." He said. " Dougy and I have plans, it was your turn to take her out tonight." June began to yell now. " Oh, shit...Never mind too late. She is leaving now. She is walking up the hill. I will follow her there. I know where she's going, she is visiting grandma Adele's grave. This is really bad. You won't be of any use to her now. Damn it." June hung up on me. I knew what came next. Kennedy would become deeply depressed. She didn't know what drew her to the unmarked grave, but she would sit there for hours, just silently sitting there. She didn't remember her grandmother was buried there, by her own hands. June didn't tell her, she thought it would make things worse. I sat down and went back to work. It's not my problem, I'm not her vampire anymore. My heart was beating faster. When Kennedy went dark, it was very dark. She wouldn't let anyone console her, except her father, or Howle. Neither were home now. Howle was preparing things for the annual gala, Arlo was in America selling his home. He planned on moving here to Oaksprings permanently. He couldn't leave his very pregnant baby moma, Vanessa still refused to marry him. I stood up and stretched. I was going to get her. I had to. I turned my neck side to side as it cracked. I changed into a bat and made my way through the sky towards the cemetary. I saw her kneeling there, right in front of the tombstone with the bullet hole. Rena shot at her here, once upon a time. I landed with a thud and startled her. June was watching from a tree branch above. I sat next to Love bird. " I'm sorry I was too busy working to talk to you." I offered. She didn't look at me, just shrugged. " Let me take you home." I tried to take her hand. She shuddered and closed her eyes. " Something is very wrong isn't it?" She asked me softly. " Of course not, you are safe. You have a good life here in Oaksprings." I offered. " No, Lucas. I mean with me. You are pushing me away, you don't want me to change you. You love being a vampire. I messed up somehow." I looked away. It was true, I didn't want her to change me again. " Lucas, I want you to know that you're going to miss me when I'm gone. You will especially miss me when you are all alone."
