Adam wins.

" If everyone will wait in the common area, I will summons you after January meets with Dean Conners, Angela has asked me to inform you all. So please, leave now." Adam said to my guys and my father.

He took my arm and pulled me to her office.

Eivan grabbed my other arm and Tommy stood in front of Adam.

My daddy opened the office door for me and yanked me in, slidding in beside me. He secured the door, preventing Adam from coming back in.

"We are not doing things his way." Daddy said angrily.

I heard a loud commotion behind that door as my guys unleashed on Adam, I assumed.

" Dean Conners what can I do for you?" I asked as I approached the Dean's desk.

"Sit down Miss Holmes. Do you want your father to remain as we discuss the terms of your exit from Greenmire?"

I nodded as I sat down.

" My exit? What...what did I do?" I was so confused.

She handed me a folder.

Inside was my four year degree. Signed by the dean in her swooping flourish signature.

" I'm leaving?" I asked her.

" It's come to my attention that you have retained an attorney to sue the college in the amount if 20 million dollars.

Mr. Wilson has asked for specific terms to separate ways that is beneficial to all parties involved."

She slid the still warm non disclosure papers towards me as well as a promissory note for a personal settlement in the amount of $500,000.

"What the f**k?" I cried as I stood up and threw the papers at her.

"Daddy get Adam's ass in here now!" I was fuming.

Calvin Holmes POV

I had heard everything that my daughter had heard, but mostly it was the amount of $500,000. that caused my old heart to speed up rapidly.

I need that money for my fishing boat. That money would set the family up for life.

The repairs that needed to be done on my boat, the Eastern May were over $100,000. dollars alone.

Of course the boat would be placed in January's name so she would be the new owner, but how would I get her to agree to the settlement?

I quickly walked down to the commons and found Adam nursing a black eye.

His lip was bleeding but he was smiling at me like the damn Cheshire cat.

" Ready to go home to Port Bellows...dad?" he asked me.

I frowned at him.

He was the devil.

" What do you get in return son?" I asked him.

" I'm buying your consent to marry your daughter January. And...you and the misses will enjoy an early retirement. I'm a generous man. Is she all packed up?" he was a cocky SOB.

" She wants to see you." I said.

I was about to do something that I would regret the rest of my life.

I was going to give my blessing for this maniac to marry my beautiful, perfect daughter.

I gripped my fists open and closed as I swallowed bile rising in my gut. Why my baby girl and not April. I could easily give April away.

Greed had always been my downfall. I deserved to have an early retirement, I told myself.

I have worked hard all of my life. Besides, January used to love Adam once. As long as she's happy I can justify my actions. It's for the family, not just me.

Professor Bellstone and Thomas were sitting out by the main doors. Security guards holding them there until they heard word from the dean.

Fighting in school is grounds for being fired and expelled.

" Adam! What did you do? I'm not suing my school. You are going to apologize to Mrs. Conners and tell her it's all a mistake!" I yelled, barely in control of my emotions.

" Actually, I think it's in your best interest to sign the papers darling. You would never be able to live with yourself if Professor Bellstone and the quarterback guy were arrested for s****l assault.

Reputations ruined... not to mention fired and expelled. You don't want that do you honey?" he said smoothly.

" I'm not making those accusations!" I barked.

" Hmmm...I've been to that small caretakers house. Playboys strewn around, I mean rumor has it that you yourself were duct taped in a s*x house of horrors when you were finally rescued." He raised a brow challenging me now.

" I f****d them, both of them. Is that what you need to hear?

They only duct taped me because I liked it. I wanted it.

Mrs. Conners was smiling at me now. She looked proud of me.

I held my lip, then stepped back.

" You need to leave Adam. I'm pressing charges." I shook my head at him.

" No! This is what's going to happen. You are packing your stuff and going to your father's waiting car, because he has agreed to give us consent to wed.

In return, I won't release the story of how he allowed his young daughter, a measly child to be raped over and over by his best friend.

And further more, I will destroy both of your little f**k boys and ruin their lives.

Mrs. Conners has signed all of the papers and what's done is done.

Get that f*****g pen in your whoring fingers and sign that form. Do it now!" He stood over me, as he had always done before.

" I won't. I will never be your wife. Never!" I said in horror at the extent his threats.

He picked up his phone and dialed. "Release him. Make sure he has a current photo of her and her address."

He hung up the phone and looked into my eyes.

" Ronald Parson has had 14 years to build a vendetta against you and your family.

He was just released early by the governor, whom my family help to get elected by the way.

Also there are police officers waiting to take your boyfriends to jail right this minute.

I'm asking for full prosecution for battery.

THEY did this to my face, unprovoked. There are witnesses.

Both will be treated very, very unkindly in that jail. I assure you. If they even live through it."

I grabbed the pen, tears in my eyes and blindly signed the papers.

" You're lying about my daddy aren't you?" I asked as, I wiped my eyes.

" Talk to him yourself."

He started dialing his phone again.

" Tell the officers it was all a misunderstanding and to release professor Bellstone and Thomas Hamilton."

I looked up at Dean Conners.

" I'm very sorry that you had to be involved in any of this. I assure you that I would never sue you or this school.

It has been my home and I've loved every second of my time here."I said sadly.
