Chapter 10 the rogue

Gary's P.O.V 

  I took a look around the throne room, but I don't know why it was called that as there was no throne and just a few chairs, a table and a few books that were on shelves. I got up and took a book off the shelf, I didn't know how to read, but if there were photos then I got a pretty good idea of what was going on. I flipped through the pages, but there were no photos in these books and I placed the book back in its place, careful not to rip the cover. I could tell the book was old, just from looking at it and just then the King walked into the room, looking me up and down. I must admit I was a little scared, this man was a blood thirsty vampire who could drain someone in seconds. 

  "Son you have something to tell me?" The Vampire King said, clearing his throat. I looked at him stunned, he was actually nice to me and I was a little taken back.

  "Yes sir I do. It's about Greg from Trish's old pack, he's planing to get her alone, rip out her tongue and torture her. He has plans to take over your throne and kill you and your wife." I explained and The King growled, I took a few steps back, I was scared and looked at the 6.7 dark shoulder length haired, gold eyed man. I tried to look for an escape, but all I saw was the door I came in from and that was across the room. I wanted to kick myself for walking so far from the door and the only thing I could think to do was kneel in a submissive way before the King. I dropped to my knees and showed my neck, so the King knew I was submitting to him and hoping that the King wouldn't rip my head off in the process. It brought new meaning to the phrase 'don't shoot the messenger'.

  "Rise boy and tell me when he plans to do this." The King said, looking down at me. I stood on my feet, but kept my head bowed.

  "In a few months, but knowing him it will be next month when he gets more rogues together." I replied, the King listened to me and watched my body language, he asked me to raise my head so that he could see my eyes, probably to try and tell if I was lying or not.  

  Kaun's (The Vampire King) P.O.V 

  I knew Gary was scared of me, his body reeked of fear and the look in his eyes told me that he had heard the rumours of me and yet he still came here of his own free will to warn me.

  "So why did you really come here? Did you come for food and water in exchange for information? What did you come here for? What is your name, so I will know who I'm talking to?" I asked him, firing questions at him and trying to catch him off guard.

  "My….My….My name is Gary." Gary nervously said, but looking me straight in the eye. 

  "Well Gary, tell me your story, why are you a rogue?" I asked, deciding it would be best to start from the very beginning. Gary sighed, looked around the room and collapsed on the floor, sitting down. It must be a hard story for him to tell if he is reacting this way.

  "I had a pack a long time ago and we were a peaceful pack called The Golden Moon pack. My mother and father were Alpha and Luna and I had a sister who was five years older than me." Gary started to say and then stopped, shaking his head and tears started forming in his eyes.

  "I wasn't always a rogue, not until blood thirsty rogues came and killed every single pack member. They were disgusting and I will never forget what they did after, while they were still in their wolf form they started to eat my dead pack members. Nasty bastards. I had a mate once and she ran with me, but one of the rogues caught and killed her, before he could eat her like the others, I killed it. It took me years to track down every single one of those nasty bastards, but I did and I killed each and every one of them. To this day I still don't know why they turned like that, but I swore to myself that if I ever got that hungry I would kill myself before ever eating someone. I've been on my own since then, I took odd jobs, ate food, got hotel rooms to shower in from time to time and even found slutty girls to keep me company, but I never found my second chance mate and I don't want to be like this when I do." Gary said, breaking his heart to me. I quietly listened to Gary retelling his life story and couldn't help shake my head, this kid has had a hard life.

  "Gary, get up." I said and he rose to his feet, with his shoulders slumping.

  "Listen, do you want to join our family? You seem like a good man, you've just had a hard life and with a little help you can get cleaned up. The guard that brought you in here Andy noticed you reading one of the books, do you like to read?" I asked him and I saw his eyes light up at my offer, but then they dimmed a bit when I mentioned the books.

  "Sir if I could read I would read all day, if I could." Gary sighed and I nodded.

  "We have teachers here to help you learn to read, that's not a problem at all. Come on, I'll introduce you to my Luna, she's a very beautiful person and I adore her very much, just never get on her bad side." I chuckled, we left the throne room and went into the castle. 

  Sandy's P.O.V 

  Kaun had slipped away for something, but had been gone for some time. I knew there was nothing wrong and he was safe, as I didn't feel or sense anything different. I was walking into the kitchen when suddenly the air turned foul and I smelt the most horrible scent I had ever smelt, it was that bad that I was close to gagging. I turned to find the source of the smell and saw Kaun there with a rogue standing slightly behind him.

  "Who's this?" I asked and Kaun chuckled, instantly relaxing me. 

  "He's come to join our family Sandy." Kaun said, I looked wearily at first, but Kaun seemed okay with it and so I was too.

  "Well welcome to the family sweet heart, we need to get you a room so you can shower and get some rest, you look very tired." I said, smiling happily at the new addition to our family. Kaun mind-linked me and told me the rogue's name was Gary and briefly what he had discussed with him, I nodded.

  Gary's P.O.V 

   "Take the first room on the second floor, shower and rest, we will come and get you for dinner so you can meet the rest of the family." The Luna said, gesturing to the stairs behind me, I nodded and walked to the stairs, up to the second floor. I went into the first room and it was massive, so much better than the hotels I had stayed in. I walked to what I thought was the door to the bathroom, but it turned out to be a walk-in closet, I opened another door and this time I had got it right, it was the bathroom. I took the longest shower ever, enjoying the clean warm water running down my body and washing away all the dirt that had built up since my last shower, I dried off and walked back into the bedroom. I laid down on the bed and it was so comfortable, it's been a long time since i was able to sleep in a comfortable bed and it didn't take long for me to fall asleep.

  Kaun's P.O.V 

  I told Sandy in detail everything that Gary had told me and her eyes widened in shock and sympathy for Gary.

  "He will be here in a month, we need to get all the help we can. Maybe some neighboring packs will help, he said Greg's pack is big, so I'll make a few calls and see what they say." I said and Sandy agreed. 

  "I Know Skyler and Seth might help, we haven't met them yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about them, Skyler lived a hard.life as well, maybe she can help Trish." Sandy said, to which I thoughtfully nodded. 

  "Maybe so, we will call their alpha as well." I replied, coming up with more suggestions and just then David and Trish walked into the kitchen, Sandy turned to them smiling.

  "You two need to sit down, we need to tell you something." Sandy said and they both looked a little worried, but they sat down and began to listen to what Sandy and I had to say. We told them everything from Gary turning up to what Greg was going to do to Trish and me. They both growled, but stayed calm.

  "In a few days we are going to have a lot of people here." I said, they both nodded and then Trish stood up. 

  "Where is this Gary at?" Trish asked.

  "He's upstairs resting, he's been through a lot. I'll go get him when dinner is done, so he can meet the rest of the family." Sandy said and she nodded.

  "Okay. I know I still need to talk to the rogue's in the cells again, maybe they will have a lot more to say. I'll do that after dinner and meet Gary, until then I have homework to do." Trish said and David nodded in agreement. 

  "We have a test tomorrow, so we need to study." David said.

  "Go ahead, we will call you when dinner is ready." Sandy said, they nodded and went upstairs to study.

  Trish's P.O.V 

  I was so shocked and angry after hearing everything that I had just been told, but being with David made me feel calm and safe. I knew we needed to study, but it was becoming more and more difficult, especially when David kept kissing my neck and picking on me. I playfully punched his arm and he pouted at me, while rubbing his arm.

  "Stop and study or you will never graduate." I said, trying to scold him, but he only laughed. 

  "Well that will be hard when we are both in the twelfth grade and almost done." David replied, giving me puppy dog eyes. 

  "You're right, but let's not risk it." I replied laughing.
