Chapter 10 Sue, Dan, and Martinez followed Jacinda back into the Maintenance passage. Jacinda had run her fingers through her hair enough that it wasn’t the least bit flat, on the one side or anywhere else. When the door refused to respond to his comm, Martinez used the same whirling gadget to close the door behind them. They headed deeper into the ship. Sue remembered from the map that they were cutting off two of the long main corridors, turning an hour’s steady walk into about fifteen minutes. But by the time Jacinda gave up on waiting for the motion sensor lights to kick on and charged ahead with her trouble light, Sue was sure they’d been walking for hours.
