Chapter Fifteen - Training

2400 Words
Crystal Raine Meadows I couldn't believe what I had just heard a while ago, I'm having a tutor, and was he talking about Calyx as my freaking tutor? Are they out of their minds?! I'll really fail if I accept this! How are they so sure that this guy would help me?! He's a freaking rude human dragon that probably only thinks about himself! "L-Let me get this straight, you were saying that someone requested to be my tutor and it's him? Is Calyx going to be my tutor?" I calmly asked while pointing at Calyx, so Mr. Light just nodded at me. "W-What? Why him? I'm already highly against having a tutor and I don't know what strings Ate Kathy pulled just to get this and hearing that Calyx would be my tutor for the subject I might fail? There must be some mistake," I bit my lower lip. "Is there a problem with this, Ms. Meadows? I wouldn't approve of it if I knew this would not help you," Mr. Light stated, so I got confused for a moment. "Calyx is the strongest human dragon inside this University and he excels in both training and knowledge skills, and you, on the other hand, excels too much at knowledge department and lack skills on physical, which is really important," I didn't hear anything aside from what he said about Calyx. Did I hear that right? That cold-hearted, ruthless man is the strongest human dragon here inside the University? How did that happen? "And from what I've heard, your field professor might fail you if you don't improve after this end of the semester," Mr. Light added, so my eyes widened. I didn't know that our professor would really fail me if I didn't improve, this is a freaking nightmare! This never happened before when I was homeschooled! I always have straight A's! My eyes peered at Calyx and he's just idly standing on the podium with his hands in his pockets. I don't even know if he's listening to this conversation. "And you Calyx, I expect you to do your job, you've been messing inside of the student council lately, and not just that, the whole University, your sister wants this punishment for you," Mr. Light glanced at Calyx this time, so he just scoffed. "She's really hard to deal with sometimes, I told her not to do this because I said I wasn't sorry for all I did, I have my reasons why I did all of those things," he coldly said, so Mr. Light just sighed and I suddenly got worried about my grades and well-being. They're telling me now that this guy can help me? "M-Mr. Light, what if he won't help me? This is his punishment, we're not sure if he's really able to help me," I firmly stated and almost flinched when I heard someone slamming his fist on the podium. "For your information woman, I'm not the type of person that backs out when it's something that my sister wanted for me to receive, you don't have to worry about failing that freaking subject," I almost freeze when Calyx said those words, he sounded a bit mad when I thought of him like that. Mr. Light then gathered his things before facing us two, "If you two don't have any more questions, you can follow me on the room that's been reserved for the two of you, your professor in the fields is already informed about this so you don't have to see her just to ask permission during her class," Mr. Light stated, so I have no other choice, but to grab my bag and come with them. This is so unfair! I can't believe Ate Kathy used Ms. Hailey to do this kind of thing! Did she even know who's going to be my tutor?! This is a complete disaster! Is this what face to face is supposed to be like? If I knew this would happen, I wouldn't sign myself up for this. A few people were staring at us in the hallways as I lowered my head down because of their judgmental stares. "If you keep on looking, I'll pull those eyes out of their sockets," I heard Calyx raise his voice on my side, so I furrowed my eyebrows for a moment. Were they staring at him too? The stares disappeared because of his threat, I glanced at Calyx and he's walking on the other side with a huge space between us while looking straight ahead. Did he do that for me? I was really confused and didn't realize that we've already arrived inside that special training room that they've provided for us. It was located on the third floor of the University near the student council room. The main brown oak door right in front of us is so big and the handles of it were gold. "This is the room, only the two of you are allowed here, I should go and you two better start your training," after he said those words, Mr. Light left us both alone in those quiet hallways. Calyx, on the other hand, opened the big main doors and it revealed to us a big wide room that's filled with dummies, weapons, potions, and a huge space where a person could run a 500m sprint in there. I glanced on the outside before peering inside of the room again, how does this room fit inside of the University? "Get changed, I'll be back here after you're done," he coldly stated without looking at me, so I just sighed and did what he said as I proceeded inside of the shower room on the corner. It didn't take me long to change into my training clothes, I also tied my long jet-black wavy hair into a ponytail before proceeding outside. Jenny would be so worried if she won't see me inside of the field grounds, she must've thought that I got in trouble again. How would I explain this to my friends? That would be so embarrassing! I just sighed and placed my uniforms on the lockers inside of that room. After fixing my things, I faced the front and that's when I realized that Calyx was gone. I tried checking on the boy's shower room if there's a noise but there's none. Great, did he leave me inside this deserted room? I placed my hand on my forehead when I just realized that he probably left me here alone. "What did I expect from a ruthless human dragon? Of course, he'll leave me here," I just sighed and bit my lower lips before pacing towards my bag to take out my books for physical abilities. I'll make sure I write a report about this for them to change my tutor, I can't believe that he was this cold and irresponsible enough to leave me, and yet they say he's the strongest one here huh? What a fraud. It didn't take me a while until I found a space for me to read, it's on the edge of the window where there is enough space for me to sit and lift my feet. So much for not failing my physical class, I really have to do everything on my own, I'm the only one who could help myself. I was so focused on what I'm reading about physical abilities that I didn't realize that someone was looming over me. "You'll be dead if I was your enemy," I was startled upon hearing a voice and fell on the ground, I grunted while caressing my butt cheeks. "How clumsy can you be, woman? Are you sure that you'll be able to survive my tutoring?" Calyx asked, so I raised my head and glared at him. "You could've warned me! Why do you have to startle me?" I complained before standing up because this rude guy wouldn't offer a hand to me. "It was your fault that you were startled, you weren't paying attention around your surroundings which is really important when you're training at the fields, you can't just focus on one thing, you should be able to feel and sense all of the people, animal, and things around you," he scolded, so my eyes widened. He's here and he's wearing his training clothes? My eyes peered at his presence and I almost gulped at how incredible our training clothes fit him. I closed my eyes before shaking my head, am I freaking checking him out a while ago?! I must be out of my mind. "And didn't someone tell you that reading physical abilities doesn't help? You're just getting information, not abilities by doing that, you're not improving physically," he coldly stated, so I glanced at him intently. "And you didn't warm up yet even though I took this long to get this whiteboard," he sounded disappointed, so my eyes widened before peering at the door. He's right, there is a whiteboard there and a marker, here I thought that he left me for his own benefit. I'm ashamed of myself for thinking of him like that. I paced towards his front and bowed my head, "I-I apologize, I thought you left me here when I realized that you were gone, I'll warm up as quickly as I can," after that, I didn't look at him as I've decided to warm up. He didn't say anything after I said those words, he patiently waited for me to warm up until I ran towards him again. Calyx Nyxerian Paraiso After the talk about Mr. Light a while ago, I was sure that Hailey was the reason for all this. It's probably the letter that she received last night. I don't understand why I went along with this despite it's my sister's orders. There's something about this woman that keeps me wanting to look at her. My mind also can't seem to forget how she bowed her head to me a while ago, no one apologized for that honestly and sincerely to me before aside from Hailey. I also don't understand why I found it amusing. I went along with this because I want to help her and find out why I want to keep looking at her. And also why I keep on reacting on matters that don't involve me but involve her instead. This tutor might benefit us both, so I might as well get along with it. "I-I'm done warming up," she sprinted on my front, I looked at her intently and she looked extremely tired already. Did she even warm up in her entire life? Will she die instantly if I asked her to do a 10 round sprint? I just shook my head, I'm still thinking about how I'll deal with this clumsy woman. She's too physically weak. "Jog, 10 rounds, over there, let's work on your stamina, you're weak there," I honestly stated, so I saw her bite her lower lip. My heart aches for a moment and I don't understand why I'm getting affected by her gestures. She just freaking bit her lip damn it. I watched her jog, as expected she's frail as a flower as she tripped herself over towards nothing, she kept on grunting while jogging. She also looks like she's out of breath, "Is this your first time training?" I raised my voice, so she looked at me before averting her gaze. "Y-Yes, it's my first time breaking a sweat like this," she admitted. I like her honesty. Everyone would like an honest person like her. "Why? You're a mortal and you should've trained on your own most especially because you were homeschooled, didn't your parents teach you?" I coldly asked, I'm not interested, I just want to know why she's like this and she's almost 18. There was a long pause between us two before she decided to look at me once more, "I-I...I'm not close with my parents, they didn't teach me because I-I'm..." she looks like she's very sensitive about this topic. Even if she doesn't tell me, I know that she has a bad relationship with her family, the memory of my father and stepmother flashed before my eyes. I just shook my head and stood up when I noticed that it was her last lap. "After jogging, do workouts for your core, sit-ups, high knees, burpees, and just freaking look at this paper because I'm too tired to narrate everything to you," I stated and looked at her intently, she looks like she's about to gain asthma. "C-Can I please just drink one sip of water?" she asked, but I just shook my head and pointed at the space suitable for workouts. "After catching your breath, proceed with your workouts, and take note that you'll be doing this for a week," I firmly stated, so her alluring sapphire eyes widened as she bit her lip again. "Why are you always biting your lips?" I frustratedly asked so she flinched before furrowing her eyebrows at me. "U-Uh? Is it necessary for me to answer?" she curiously asked, so I just shook my head and forced her to continue everything that I ordered her to do a while ago. That stupid bite of hers on her lower lip makes my body feel something I have not felt before and it's irritating my well-being. It was almost time when she almost fainted on the marbled grounds, I swiftly paced over there to check if she was alright. When I noticed her harsh breathing I told her to get up, "Don't lay down while catching your breath, you'll die early," I firmly said, so she just sighed before forcing her body to stand up but she couldn't. "I-I can't, my body hurts like hell," she almost sounded like she's about to cry, so I shook my head at her. "Why are you sitting right next to William Jay Falkor?" my mouth suddenly blurted out and I'm confused why I asked her that. "U-Uh because he's my friend?" she stated, so I just shook my head and left towards the main doors. "See you tomorrow and I hope you've already worked out by the time I arrive there," I firmly said and slammed the door behind my back. I have to get to my training in the forest in time.
