EMILY
This is insane. He’s insane. There’s absolutely nothing anyone would tell me to convince me that Professor Dylan isn’t insane.
The words he said earlier kept ringing in my ear. How can he say he’s not human? Is he telling me what I thought I saw yesterday is true?
Werewolf? I thought they only existed in the movies and books so what does he mean by he’s not human and he’s one of them?
“This has gotten to be a lie and everything I thought I saw has to be a dream.” I shook my head profusely refusing to accept it.
“It’s not a lie and it’s true. What you saw yesterday wasn’t a dream and it’s real. I’m a werewolf and you are my mate.” He uttered as if those words were the most common ever.
“You must be insane! Are you my professor? Are you the professor that I know? You are crazy! This is insane!” I uttered, annoyance laced in my tone.
“Calm down and listen to me. I can explain everything to you. Werewolf exists and I can prove it to you,” he explained.
I let out a bitter laugh. “Even if they later turn out true like you claim, I am not your woman. I can’t be your woman!”
“But that’s a fact. You are my mate. That’s why I’ve always treated you differently.” He took a step towards me and I took three steps back trying to comprehend all that he had just said.
“Stop it! Don’t! Don’t utter such nonsense! I have always respected you. I looked up to you and then you come to me and claim that I’m your mate? Are you sure you don’t need to see a doctor? Trust me when I say you might need one because this is sick!” I uttered bitterly.
The whole situation was starting to drive me crazy and I needed to go out of this place before I lost my senses.
Not only were the blurry images of last night tormenting me but the fact he kept saying it’s true and claiming I’m his woman makes me want to go crazy.
I attempted to leave and run away but he got a hold of my wrist, refusing to let me walk.
“Let me explain to you.” He pleaded making me feel more sick than I already was about the whole situation.
I tried to take my wrist off his hold but he tightened his hold.
“Let me go!” I screamed!
“Don’t scream please.” He pleaded.
“And what won’t I? Let me go! Let me go!” Exclaimed.
“Please listen to me. I will let you go, only if you let me prove to you that I am indeed what I claim I am.” He insisted.
“And after that what should I do?” I questioned.
“I will take you home. So please listen to me.”
I exhaled deeply. “Alright.”
“Prove it. Prove to me that you are a werewolf and what I saw last night wasn’t a dream.” I replied.
“Alright but please don’t panic.” He said.
I rolled my eyes.
In the blink of an eye, I watched as Professor Dylan's eyes changed into a brighter shade and soon his body changed and he turned into a wolf scaring the living daylight out of me.
He didn’t lie. He is a werewolf and with that, I passed out.
——
“My head hurts,” I uttered as I rubbed my forehead while slowly opening my eyes.
“What did I do to feel this much pain,” I questioned myself as I prepared myself to sit on the bed.
That was when it all clicked on me and my eyes widened.
I’m still in Professor Dylan’s house and the last time we spoke, he turned into a werewolf.
“Goodness!” I gasped.
“Werewolf are real!” And just then Professor Dylan walked into the room and I jumped up.
“Stay away from me! Stay away from me!” I exclaimed with full force.
“Please listen to me, Emily. I’m not going to hurt you. I just want to let you know what it is that you should know.” He said.
“And what is it that I should know? Professor Dylan is not a human being but an animal in human form. That’s the professor I respect so much isn’t who I thought he was?” I voiced out my anger.
And to worsen it, he’s claiming he treated me differently because he considers me his woman and not because I am smart!” I clicked my tongue in disbelief.
I couldn’t believe it. I’ve always related more with professors. I’ve always loved his teachings and never for once missed his class. I always thought he liked me because I was a good student and wanted to help me, I didn’t know all he did was for his selfish gains and because he saw me as someone that I am not and that hurts.
I feel betrayed. This hurt so much that it felt as if my heart had been ripped from my chest.
“I am a werewolf and as a werewolf, I’m destined to have a mate and you are my mate. That’s the reason I became a professor at the University. To get closer to you and to know you better, I’m sorry you had to find out this way. I didn’t intend for it to be like this and so I apologize.”
I couldn’t believe my ears, it. “Who are you?” I voiced out before I could process anything in my head.
“I would love to tell you all about me. I won’t hide anything from you at all. All that you want to know, I’d let you know but all I ask for is that you give me a chance. Give me a chance to get to know you and I promise you that you will know all that you want to know.” He uttered.
From his voice, I could tell that he was pleading for me to give him a chance but it’s already messed up and I don’t think I’m ready for all of this.
It’s too much for me to handle and I need a lot of time to process this.
“I want to go home,” I said, almost in a whisper.
He opened his mouth to say something but ended up saying nothing.
“I will give you time and space but I want you to know that I am sorry and I look forward to hearing from you again.” He said after some seconds.
I hope so. I said mentally but honestly, I don’t think I ever want to see him again.
