Chapter 10 Kim breathed deep and slow as Steph parked in the graveled space beside Auntie Venus’s house, only a few feet back from where Kim usually parked herself. Much discussion on the drive down about whether they should retrieve Kim’s little sedan first had ended with a fairly reasonable compromise. Stop by here first, just in case Auntie Venus needed anything from town for dinner. That way they’d cut out at least one return trip. Even if she didn’t need anything, Steph insisted this still made more sense than her driving down, driving back up, then driving home. Kim wasn’t sure she agreed with any of that logic, but she wasn’t about to turn down the chance to spend more time with Steph. She also put herself under strict orders to not read too much into Steph wanting to spend more
