Chapter Seven Nanda and Tasha were bound for Nuritov’s, to report the minimal successes of the venture to the docks. Konrad, however, excused himself, for he had another errand in mind. ‘I cannot take you with me,’ he told the two ladies firmly. ‘Why not?’ Nanda spoke the words, but Tasha’s belligerent posture and angry glare eloquently expressed her opposition to being left behind. ‘Will it be dangerous?’ said Tasha, the words dripping sarcasm. ‘Not in the slightest.
