Chapter Six In an instant, Konrad threw off all the wards and guards he kept up day by day; the mask that hid his true nature as the Malykant, that allowed him to pass for an ordinary gentleman. He grew taller, stronger, more formidable by the second, and an icy, implacable resolve filled his heart.
