Fifty five. A new home for Delilah and Brandon.

1697 Words
Two months later... There was a party going on at Georgia's homestead. Adam and Hanna had generously hired extra help to expedite the new home build. Today was the day that the little Jonas family was moving into their new home. Georgia of course would have a mother in law unit on the side of the home. Brandon had an electric wheel chair, he wheeled up the wide ramp and parked just outside the front door. Lillianne pushed his walker to the entrance for him. He smiled, dimples showing on his clean shaven face. " You are very helpful girl." He told his ex girlfriend. Lillianne nodded. "Delilah told me to do it." She laughed. Delilah came out of the kitchen, she had been putting glassware away. " You're home early, how was therapy?" She asked. Brandon took several slow steps into the house, then sat down. " Slow, very slow and painful. But, you got through it, so I can too." His eyes twinkled. "I...have a surprise for you." He said. Lillianne went to the kitchen to finish what Delilah was doing in there. " I love a good surprise!" She said, excited now. He stood up and bent down and touched his toes. " I'm starting to get more flexible, the yoga is helping. Thanks to you!" Delilah had been teaching yoga classes. She was his private instructor as well. He sat back down with a groan. " Come sit by me a sec." He said. Delilah sat down next to him. " I love you Delilah, I am so happy to be home. You have been so good to me. But...I want you to get mad at me, yell at me when I piss you off, tell me if I'm being stupid. You know how you usually are. I don't want you to pretend with me. Are you able to do that?" She threw her head back and laughed. "I have been biting my tongue, I just...I'm nervous that this happiness will be taken away from us, somehow. So, I'm being cautious not to hurt our fragile emotions, you know." He grabbed her and sat her on his lap, she squealed. He kissed her. A sweet, loving kiss full of promise and appreciation for all that they had together. " Maybe, a little of my special therapy tonight, after the party?" He said. Delilah told him to go check out the bedroom. She had set things up in there. Brandon got up and very slowly walked into their bedroom. He saw pictures of them everywhere. Wedding photos, kids photos, baby photos. He looked around. There was a trapeze bar above the bed. One that he could hold onto to move better in and out of bed. He saw a black box wrapped with a red bow. He opened it. "I wanted to give you a gift for later." She said. He opened it. " Where did you get all of these pictures, we lost everything in the fire." " My mom pulled things off the computer, she had them printed up for us." Brandon saw a pair of silky blue pajamas, underneath was a bottle of sexy oil and a little package of lovers toys. He shut the lid quickly. "I'm going to need to put this stuff away for now, girl....you are always surprising me." He was excited. " The therapist suggested that we try to go back to a normal love life. I just wanted you to know, if it doesn't happen, I don't care. I don't need you to make long passionate love to me. I just need you." She said smiling. He had been unable to make love without a lot of stress. It was hard for him to do it. There was a knock on the door. Delilah got up, kissed him and told him to rest up. He lay back and closed his eyes, he was tired from his workout earlier with Jonathon the PT. " Oh, hey...I didn't know you were coming over."said Lillianne. She had gotten to the door before Delilah. Jonathon Davis PT was bring a new safety bar to install in the bathtub for Brandon. Lillianne showed him where to go. She turned to walk away. Delilah had advised her to ignore him and not try too hard. She was doing just that. Even though, he made her heart beat faster. Lillianne didn't know how a real relationship worked. She always tried to be sexy and manipulate the men she was with to get what she wanted. She was trying something new. Lillianne was wearing a pair of overalls. She didn't put on any makeup or fancy hair styles. She was just plain Lillianne when she was at the farm. She was attending online school for early childhood education. She wanted to be a teacher. Delilah had become closer with her since she had attacked her. She was starting to really like her now, Lillianne was trying to be a new person. Even Brandon noticed, she was very good with the kids. She had a gift with them. Jonathon looked covertly at her. She was so pretty. He could see that she wasn't being loud and brash anymore. She was just friendly, polite. He asked her for a tape measure. "I need to measure the tub, to place this bar correctly." Delilah told her to take him to the barn."There are tons of tools down there." She winked at Lillianne. Lillianne walked outside, she told him to follow her. She didn't say another word. He asked her how her classes were going." Do you like school," he said making small talk. " Um. yup." She said. She opened the barn door. She motioned to him to look through the tools on the wall. She moved over to the hen house and scooped up some feed and threw it in to the chickens. She stayed in there waiting for him to leave. She thought he had so she came out and rounded the corner. She bumped right into his firm chest. He grabbed her arms, " Oh, sorry.I was waiting for you." She put a piece of her long brown hair behind her ear. He saw she had several holes in her earlobe. He could tell she used to wear jewelry. " How come you don't wear any jewelry or, uh make up anymore?" " I guess because of the kids. They don't care if I look bad. They just want to be with me. I never...well I never had any siblings. I have never been around kids." She shrugged and walked off. Jonathon said,"Hey, wait up." He ran after her. " I don't think you look bad without makeup."He offered. Lillianne stopped. "Thanks." She actually blushed. He touched her hair,"You have some straw in your uh..hair." Lillianne looked at him then. He was interested in her. She froze. He took a step back. "I better get to work, sorry for keeping you." She didn't move. She nodded. " Go on ahead, I forgot to turn off the light in the hen house. See you later." He walked up the road to the house. Lillianne slowly walked into the barn. She sat on a bale of hay, then lay back thinking. She didn't know how to be a real girl. She chewed on a piece of hay, thinking. I'm so broken, I can't even talk to a guy normally. I'm so stupid. She sighed. She was beating herself up for all her past mistakes. She didn't see him. He had returned. He was watching her talk to herself. " You can't even talk to a guy now, such an i***t!" She said lying there with her eyes closed. He scared her." Why Lilli?" He said. She rolled off the hay onto the dirt floor. " Huh, oh I thought you left." She said. He handed her his hand. She dusted off her hands and took it. He pulled her up. " Why, what made you change, you are different than when I first met you?" He asked. She bit her lip. "I used to be...well I had a lot of men in my life, I used my body, my looks to make money. I never had a real boyfriend. I mean Brandon, but I was always trying to get something from a man." He frowned. He said,"I think that was the person I first met, now you are different. You are nicer. Look, do you want to have dinner with me tomorrow?" Lillianne looked away."I can't. I'm sorry." She walked away. He was stung." Is this one of your little games then?" He yelled. She ran faster. She couldn't tell him that she didn't know how to be with a nice guy. She didn't feel good enough for someone like him. Jonathon ran his hand through his hair. He lost his temper. He ran after her. " Can we just talk for a minute, Lillianne please! I'm sorry." He yelled. She turned around. He saw she was crying. " I'm scared okay, I'm not playing any games, for the first time in my life. I'm sorry, I can't have dinner with someone like you. I'm messed up. I'm not normal." He was shocked by her response. He was feeling like she didn't like someone like him. " Lillianne come here!" He yelled. She walked over to him. " My name is Jonathon, call me Jon. It's a pleasure to meet you."He put out his hand to her. She frowned. "A do over, starting fresh then?" He grinned. "I want to ask you to dinner, maybe just a casual dinner at the party tonight. We just slowly get to know eachother." Lillianne nodded. "I can try. If you don't mind a girl that doesn't have a clue about being normal." He said,"I can't wait to meet her. Lillianne, don't wear any make up or do your hair or wear fancy clothes. Just come as you are now. This is the girl I am interested in. Just you." She nodded. She felt a small butterfly in her belly, just flying around in there. That was new to her.
