Delilah I asked Sera and Jason if I could crash on their couch for a few days. Sera was so excited to see me, her old high school friend again. " Blazey would love to have a grown up person to talk to," Sera giggled. My parents had raised me in Oregon on my mother's family farm. They moved to Seattle my sophomore year of high school. My father Matt was a bioengineer. He landed a great job in Washington state. I was sad to leave all of my friends in Oregon. When the school year had started, I was lucky to have met Seraphina Haven in her high school chemestry class. Us two always paired up on assignments and spent most of the class passing notes. Sera and I were besties. Sera always had a huge crush on Jason Blaze, well until he accidentally ran her over their senior year breaking her leg and ending her crush. That was a terrible year for all of us. My father had suddenly died in a car accident that year as well. My mother had moved us back to Oregon just after her high school graduation. I was heartbroken at the loss of my beloved father, and my friends. My mother turned all of her attention on cultivating the family farm. When I had decided to go to college in California, my mother and grandmother sadly let me go. I met Brandon there in California. We were both attending a wedding for my college roommate Samantha. Brandon was a friend of the groom, Ajax. We first saw each other at the wedding reception. He sat down next to me and started talking baseball to the men around us. I stood up to leave, growing bored with the conversation. Brandon Jonas had unexpectedly followed me to the outdoor tables..... " Hey, you're Delilah right, Sammy's friend?" I nodded. I didn't really care for guys that were so forward with me. I knew they were users. I wandered off to the beach. Seeing other guests out on the beach running in the tide, laughing. I was wearing a light blue brides maid dress with spaghetti straps. There was a ring of flowers on my blond head. I was bare foot, holding my sandals in one hand. To my surprise, the guy had followed me out there to the beach. I saw him approaching me. He waved and brought me a glass of red wine. He looked especially handsome in his bare feet, pants rolled up as he moved in the sand. I noticed that his brown hair had lighter highlights as it blew around in the warm wind. He shaded his eyes from the dropping sunlight. "Uh, did I say something to offend you?" He handed me the wine. "Brandon Jonas." I accepted the wine and took a sip. He complimented me on my dress and flowery thingy around my head, he motioned a circle around his head as he spoke. I noticed that he had an intensity about him, I couldn't look directly in his eyes. Looking down, I was getting over a recent heart break. I really didn't like men right now. He sat down in the sand. I finished my wine in one gulp and sat down. I had already finished several glasses over the evening. Brandon lay back on his arm, he turned to look at me. His legs were out stretched and crossed at the ankle. " Delilah, why do I want to kiss your lips right now?" I smiled, one side of my mouth rose up, I raised my eye brow and laughed. He had meant it, he moved in and began to kiss me, right there in the glow of the orange setting sun. I pushed him back. I shook my head. "Brandon, right?" He nodded. His eyelids were half closed. I brushed off my dress and prepared to stand up. " I don't do casual s*x. I tried that before, I got burned pretty bad. I hope you can forgive me, I need to see my newly married friend before I turn in." He fell back holding his chest as if l just shot him. A beautiful, curvey dark haired woman approach them. She was angry. She looked at me and frowned, "Punta!" I spoke Spanish. I held up my hands and backed away. Brandon had a girl friend. I shook my head at him. He held up his hands and shrugged. The woman berated him in Spanish now. He sat there with his head down, listening. He grabbed her hands and kissed her, reassuring her. I felt like I had dodged a bullet. Three months later I was at a ball game with my friends Samantha and Ajax. They were drinking beer and having a great time. Brandon showed up, he breezed in and tipped his baseball cap at me. He moved in close and bumped my leg, keeping it next to me the whole night. When the kiss cam showed both of our faces on the jumbo tron, he took off his hat and pulled me in, kissing me passionately. He ended the kiss with a nibble on my bottom lip. The crowd went crazy. I threw my beer on him and ran off mortified. He got up and ran after me. I had made it to the consession stand. He grabbed my arm."Delilah, I can't stop thinking about you. I want you in my bed." He was so sexy. I felt warmth to my toes. The way he had kissed me. I was breathless. I grabbed him then and kissed him deeply. He took my hand and we drove to his apartment. We were rushing now, he peeled off my shirt as we moved toward his unmade bed. He unzipped his pants. We collided into a passionate inferno. He wouldn't stop kissing me. I never had a man that was so exciting. We had s*x then, many times during the long night. When the sun rose shining brightly through the window, I woke up slowly. He caressed my face in the morning light. I yawned and stretched. He smiled. He wanted me again, he said I was so sexy. I looked around the small apartment, noticing women's things. Clothing, jewelry. I frowned. "Your not single, your still dating that woman at the wedding aren't you?" Brandon nodded sheepishly. "I tried to break it off, she won't leave me." I got up and got dressed. He hugged me closely and nibbled my shoulder. He wrapped his strong hands around my neck and pulled me to him. "Give me some time, I will end it, she's such a b***h. It's like she can't take a hint." I left for home. I didn't want to be in this affair with Brandon. It was too late. He should have told me, I should have asked. He had begged for my number from his friend Ajax. I avoided his phone calls. He pursued me. He was like a junky. He was lusting for me. I didn't want to give in, I was falling for him. I dreamed of him at night, touching myself and whispering his name. He came to my apartment one night. He knocked on my door. He knelt down. " It's over, I ended it with Camelia. Marry me Delilah, you are all that I could ever want." I cried then. He was so romantic. I nodded. We had a quiet wedding. Just a court house thing. He introduced me to his powerful father Powell and step mother Iris. He didn't tell them about the wedding. Iris was upset that night. I overheard her after dinner. "Does he have to bring his lovers here, to our home, I mean look at her. She's so beneath us." I coldly walked out that night. Brandon saw me leaving. " What's wrong?" I told him what Iris had said. He walked back in then and informed them that I was his wife. We rarely had dinner with his parents after that. The relationship was already a strained one. Powell had never been faithful to Brandon's mother Milly, nor his new wife Iris. I was happy with Brandon for a while. I started to notice that he had a wandering eye. We rarely had s*x and when we did, he was fast and furious, then back to his baseball talk with his friends. The passion had honestly fizzled after the first year of our marriage. Neither of us were happy. I sat down on the bed in Seraphina's spare room. ********** I was preparing to call him. I wanted to say the right things. I hadn't seen him in over 3 weeks. I dialed his number. " How are you, and I really want you to be honest with me?" He responded," Well, at first I didn't know how I was going to do this. I mean without your beautiful face around me every day. But, I am actually discovering a lot about myself. For the first time I am having to face my demons. I was trying to fill this emptiness. I made so many mistakes. It's such a wake up call." I made plans to see him then. He bid me good night. " Until Saturday then, Bellisima!" Antonio Valentino had recovered from a massive heart attack. He was getting stronger. The cardiologist referred him to rehab for the alcohol problem. I had been trying to keep my distance so that he could get the help that he needed. I smiled thinking about finally seeing him on Saturday. I wrote a note in my phone. Get hair done Friday. I wanted to look good for him. I hadn't heard from Brandon. He hadn't sent me the divorce papers yet. I was waiting.
