“Absolutely not!” Alpha Leon roared as he slammed open the door and entered the room. Elodie almost fell off the bed. It frightened her so much. Elara held firmly on to her hands not letting her go. “Leon, it will be fine, just a nice fun day out, you can even come if you like.” “Okay” Leon responded and rushed to place his mate under his arm again. Elodie was in shock at how this man went from 0 to 100 so quickly and how Elara could calm him down so effortlessly. It must be a mate bond thing. She thought. “I’ll come too,” Emmerson piped up, waltzing back into the room. “Were you listening the entire time?!” Elodie raised her voice at Emmerson. Letting go of Elara’s hands. She knew that Elara would have told her mate the details of their conversation but the fact that they were actively listening in on their conversation frustrated her. “Ahh yes” Emmerson wrinkled his nose at her. “To be fair, he struggled to do that, almost broke the door down a couple of times.” Leon snorted. Elodie glared at Emmerson and shook her head. “Do you have a problem with doors or something?” “Like you can talk! You used a freaking tree to get out of a room. What’s wrong with the stairs!” “Because you locked me in there!” “Like I could…” “Guys!” Alpha Leon interrupted. “Can we please take this wolf and witch fight outside please my mate needs her rest.” Emmerson grabbed Elodie’s arm and pulled her outside. The sun had set as they made it back to the pack house. “You should have something more to eat” said Emmerson as they walked through the main entrance. “You can’t just have an apple all day”. “Ugh fine” She groaned and made her way to the dining hall. She grabbed some bits and pieces from the fresh buffet table that had just been laid. “I hope you guys don’t waste all this food.” “ The others will be back soon to eat, there won’t be much waste. You just think about yourself.” ‘Have you eaten?” She asked. Emmerson smirked and raised his eyebrows. “Is little miss witch concerned about me?” He cooed. “Ugh forget it” she groaned back at him. “Why didn’t alpha Leon reject Elara when he found out that she was an omega.” Elodie asked trying to change the subject. “He always wanted to find his mate, and he always said that the restrictions and laws around rankings were BS, He changed them about 6 months ago when he became alpha. Had a fight with the old man, but that guy is too old now to actually go head-to-head with Leon.” “Why didn’t Elara go to Leon then, when it was obvious that he didn’t hold the same beliefs with regard to rankings as the previous alpha?” “I guess thinking that ranking restrictions is BS is a bit different to accepting an omega mate.” “Is it? What’s the saying in for a penny in for a pound?” “I don’t think that’s a saying.” “I think you are poorly travelled” “Never really left the pack so you are actually correct in that one.” “Really? Never left home and you are what late twenties?” “30 yes and yes. Pack work comes first. They are my family and there is always a lot to do.” “I assume you put your business studies to good use in the packs businesses then”. “Snooping in my room very lady like.” “Locked me in there, like a true gentleman.” “Now you know quiet a fair bit about me Miss Elodie, what's something about you?” “You know way too much as it is.” Elodie hissed. “So what’s one or two more things?”. “Would you like a hot chocolate?” Elodie sighed as she got up from the table. “I can get someone to make us one.” “No I can make it, is the kitchen through here”. She strolled towards the door at the back of the hall. Opening the swinging door to a large kitchen. Emmerson rushed to follow her. “Do you know where everything is?” “No idea” Emmerson chuckled and sat up on the bench. “ So you aren’t going to help me even find the mugs” Elodie scoffed. “Fine!” he grumbled. Emmerson was able to quickly locate two mugs as Elodie found the ingredients she was after, sugar, cocoa, milk, vanilla extract. “You give me the impression that you cook”. “Yes I am an okay cook, know my way around the kitchen, well my kitchen, my mother taught me actually.” “Along with this” Elodie turned towards the draw that looked to have the tea spoons and raised her hand towards it and then clenched her fist. The draw opened on its own. “Whoa!” Emmerson exclaimed. She saw the tea spoons inside and raised her hand in the same motion as the spoon flew up and into her hand. “Moon Goddess! How did you do that?!” Emmerson said standing to his feet. “Haha, it’s not that impressive, I can only move small things short distances. My mum though.. she could lift a car 300 feet down the road.” “That’s insane! But also ridiculously awesome.” “What happened to her? If you don’t mind me asking?” “Disappeared around the time I became pregnant. No idea why.” “I’m sorry”. Emmerson said. “Don’t be.” Elodie poured and stirred the mug of hot chocolate, and handed it to him. “O Wow, this is so good. You can stay. Be my personal hot chocolate waitress.” As he took a sip. “I don’t think so” Elodie laughed. “I will go to the fair tomorrow for Elara and then be off. It’s for the best. Although it must be nice to have a place where you belong.” Elodie sighed, finishing off her hot chocolate. “Mmm, I have something I want to show you” Emmerson said as he put his empty mug down and grabbed her hand. Elodie blushed with his hand in hers again, feeling just how it did the first time. He didn’t notice her face though, as he was pulling out of the kitchen and dining room and then up the stairs. They made their way to a winding staircase and until they came out on the roof. .
