Spilt Blood

"Are you okay?" Emmerson spoke in her ear. That was enough for her to come back to reality a bit and push away from him. "Yes! I just need to refreshen up." She said, completely flustered. She backed away from him. Her heart started to race again. As she made her way through the crowd to the bathrooms. That was a mistake o earth mother what was I thinking! I shouldn't have let them get so close. I shouldn't have done that charm. I need to get out of here! She felt her eyes starting to swell. She was able to locate the signs to the bathroom and followed them. They were down a long corridor with big mirrors hanging on the walls. She washed her hands and patted her face and chest, cooling and calming herself down with water. It was all too much. Couple of deep breaths, and she was recomposed to go back out to Elara and the others. Determined to get her part of their agreement, so she could leave. Someone grabbing her arm and pushing her to the wall violently pulled her out of her thoughts. It was the man that she had charmed. She didn't understand, she had reversed the charm he should not feel any pull towards her at all. "I'm glad you got rid of the meat bag with weird contacts." He sneered. "Let go of me!" Elodie yelled back, struggling against his grip on her. "You are playing hard to get, that’s cute. To be honest with you sweetheart, I felt a lot more chemistry between us before. But I'm sure we can find it again." Holding her firmly against the wall, he leaned in to her. His lips were almost touching hers, when she used all her strength to push him off. "f**k off!" He stumbled backward and hit the back of head against the mirror, cracking it slightly. "You f*****g b***h!" He yelled and grabbed her, swinging her around into the mirror, smashing it against her back, and pushing her back onto it again. Elodie screamed in pain. With the second shove a large fragment of the mirror lodged into her back. Before she could even think about how she was going to get out of this situation. Emmerson landed a huge punch to the man's face. Knocking him several feet down the corridor and completely unconscious. Emmerson was shaking with rage and his eyes were a bright yellow. Cypress was right at the edge. Leon came bursting into the corridor and crash tackled Emmerson to the ground, trying to restrain him. " Emm! He is out cold, you can't kill him! Emm calm down! You can't let Cypress take control!" Leon yelled at him. "Elodie!" Elara was at her side." O My god! Are you okay? Your hurt, let me get you to the car." She went to pick her up. But was stopped by Emmerson. "I'll take her." "You sure what about Cypress?" "He is fine, just let me take her". Emmerson picked her up, careful not to touch where the mirror went into her back. Before she knew it they were all back in the car. "I know the town hospital is closer, but I'm not risking Cypress coming forward again like that. We are going to the pack house. I'll get the pack doctor to meet us there. " Leon informed everyone as Elara got into the passenger seat and Emmerson sat Elodie on his lap. Leon floored it out of the town towards the pack house. "No just let me out on the way, I did what you asked!" Elodie started to cry. "There is absolutely no way in hell, I'm doing that Elodie." Elodie started to panic. The fear of who could find her now that she had been cut, was more intense than the pain from her back. Blood her blood, had been spilled. That was enough. She knew that was enough. He found her with just a prick of her finger the first time. He would find her. He always said he would too. He could be dead but there was no way of knowing for sure. "Don't let me bleed, he will find me, he said he would!" She started to become completely inconsolable. "Who? Who will find? Elodie!?" Emmerson asked in almost a demanding tone. But Elodie didn't answer, she couldn't stop crying and shaking. "The doctor will pull it out, we won't let you bleed." Emmerson whispered to her and pulled her closer into him, stroking her head. Elodie knew that was impossible. She was putting them in so much danger they had no idea. She had completely ruined what would have been the nicest day she had in a long time. They made it back to the pack house a lot quicker than what was expected. Emmerson carried her inside. "The doctor is in the lounge inside my office. Take her there." Leon ordered. It was only a short walk from the main entrance on the first floor. Emmerson sat down on the leather lounge, still holding on to Elodie. Her head resting on his shoulder and her back, towards to the doctor that was waiting for them. "It might be easier if she were to lie down on the lounge, she will need to remove her shirt so I can get the shard out cleanly. " "I'm no letting her go!" Emmerson roared. Leon quickly left the room, and Elara rushed over to them. "It's okay we will just rip the back off." "I know you really loved this top Elodie, but it has to go." Elodie made a little snigger at her comment. Elara tore the back of the top. The doctor started to clean the minor scratches and around the large shard. He moved her hair out of the way and then stopped. Elodie knew he saw it. He saw the bite mark in-between her shoulder blades. Leon was suddenly back in the room grabbed Elara and pulled her out. Emmerson's grip became tense, Elodie felt his heart increase dramatically. Elara came back into the room and slammed the door, obviously very angry with Leon. "Okay" The doctor said nervously. "It's going to be painful but I have been told to do this as quickly as possible. I'll remove the shard and then stitch you up as quickly as possible. I'll then give you a human dosage of pain medication to help with the pain." "No! Just pull it out and make sure the wound is clean". Elodie objected. "Elara get my bag." "Okay is it with your lantern in the office." She started to rush towards the door towards the back of the room. "No it's in Emmerson's room." "But I didn't think anything was in that bag." she replied. "Just hurry!" Elodie cried "and tell Leon to burn anything that has any blood on it. I'll pay for the car seats myself. Just burn it all!" Elara nodded and dashed out the door. She was back in a flash with Elodie's bag and was shocked to see Elodie pull her Grimore out of the bag. She could turn the pages with one hand still being held by Emmerson. Although the position was somewhat awkward it was helping her not to be so scared. "I need a piece of cotton cloth, a handful of dirt and a apple." "On it!" Elara said and was gone. She was back within seconds. She was incredibly fast. "Okay Doctor, pull out the piece and tell us when it is clean. Elara put the cloth over the wound and run the dirt over it. " "I think that is very unhygienic. I would highly advise not to" the doctor stated. "Yes it is a bit out of your field, doctor but just go with me on this please." Elodie responded. "Okay but what's the apple for?" Elara asked. "To try and prevent me from sounding like I'm being murdered." Emmerson's arm wrapped around her waist tighter. "Okay… ready" said the doctor and pulled the shard out. Cleaning the wound as fast and as quickly as he could. When he confirmed it was clean, Elara put the cloth on the wound and started to let the dirt run down it. Elodie said the Latin words as the book described and bit into the apple, as her skin and muscles pulled and stretched to close the wound, forcing the cells to mend rapidly. Since her body was not designed to do this, the pain was excruciating. She thought she was going to black out and then it stopped. It was done. The wound was closed. Elodie regaining her breath again attempted to pushed off Emmerson. He didn't let this happen and swept her up into his arms again and walked her out of the lounge room up the stairs and into his bedroom.
