Something was on Adeline's mind, I hope it wasn't the same thing on mine. Restricting my aura allows me to pass on by without my demon side being summoned. Or else the people from the legion might have done it.
But Michal feels the presence of a talisman trying to summon me. It aggravates me. It's getting harder to control parts of me that I've stuffed away, and I can't let myself slip.
I haven't secured my family here.
Yevgeny is in the back seat, humming some tunes that I'm pretty sure I've never heard of.
He seems unbothered, even though I know his mind is sullied with worry for his son and the troubles of his pack.
Adeline is eerily quiet, her eyes may stare out the window but I know she's not focusing on anything. The lake house is only a few minutes away.
