Chapter Fourteen

1755 Words
Third Person POV "Who are you?" He asked, coming face to face with a vulnerable Liana She was quiet not knowing what to say. Her mind was not on what he was saying but on the fact that she couldn't believe she has finally seen the love of her life. "Hey young lady, who are you?"  he realized she has zoned out so he snapped his fingers in front of her eyes. He knew his wife was having her attention on them but if not for that, he would have dragged Liana somewhere else where he could talk to her freely and tell her his mind. "Pharrell baby, it's me."  she opened her arms to take him into an embrace with a huge smile on her face but he pushed her away almost causing her to stumble. The smile immediately died down. she didn't understand why he was behaving weirdly or perhaps he is shocked to see her there. "Baby, I am not a clown, I am really here. And I have some good news for you."  She plastered the smile back onto her face and made another attempt to hug him but yet again, he pushed her off him. "Listen here b***h, I don't know who you are and what you want from me, but if you don't leave my house this instant I will call the damn cops on you and I will sue you for trespassing." He uttered boldly even though he was starting to feel uneasy. His wife was standing behind him watching what was going on.  "Pharrell ba....." "Shut up w***e, don't you dare call me that. I do not know you." "Relax baby"  his wife rubbed his shoulder, then got out from behind him. "Ma'am, my husband said he doesn't know you, or honey do you know her?" She asked trying to find out  who was lying. "No I don't. Thought I made that clear or are you having some doubts about me knowing her?" He seethed not looking at his wife, for she could see if he is lying in his eyes. "What are you talking about Phar..." "Mr. Smith to you. Now leave my house!" She stood dumbfounded not able to utter a word. The man she has surrendered her body and soul to is denying her. The man due to which she left her comfort zone to surprise is sacking her out of his house. "Pha....Mr. Smith, I don't know why you are behaving this way but it's me, Liana, we met in Spain and you told me you love me. You asked me to data....." "Hey woman will you stop........" "No Pharrell let her finish, I want to know what she talking about." His wife interrupted him, gesturing him with her index finger to keep quiet. She does not believe the young girl since a lot of them have made similar claims but there was something that was urging her to listen to her whole story. Pharrell on the other hand was losing his cool and was angry beyond measure. He had intended to use Liana and nothing more but he didn't know she will come looking for him. If only he had ended things with her before he left. But he took her for a fool and always saw her as a lady who doesn't reason. His assumption and carelessness have landed him into this mess. "Continue young lady. Where did you meet my husband and what do you want from him?" "I am sorry I didn't know he is married. I met him back in Spain a few months ago. He told me he loves me and I gave him my...." "Me? love you? That's ridiculous." "Shut up Pharrell. Shut the f**k up." His wife Carmine seethed with her anger evident. "I gave him my all because I thought he truly loved me and I didn't stop for a minute to think that he was using me. But it's all clear now that he was. He left the apartment we shared, yes the rented one you told me you owned without telling me. After, I found out I was p-pr-pregnant with his child. I thought he left because of an emergency and that he will return yet I chose to surprise him and tell him the news about my pregnancy." "Enough of your sob story lady, I trust my husband. And if I say he hasn't traveled in a long while, it because he hasn't. You are not the first to come here with such ridiculous sob stories and it always turns out they only want a share of our fortune. I won't ask you how you knew his name since he is a famous guy and you might have heard it on the TV or seen it in magazines. And if what you are saying about being pregnant is true, then I guess you are at the wrong place. I advise you should go elsewhere and look for the father of your bastard. My husband is not responsible. Let this be the last time you ever come here or anywhere close to us. "Simon! Simon!" She called out to their guard who run to them in no time. "Kindly escort our unwanted guest out." "And you b***h, when you look at yourself, do you look like someone my husband will have a taste for? He will never even take you as his w***e. Before you make any claims on innocent men, examine yourself and see whether you are fit to even make that claim." She gestured for Simon to take a reluctant Liana away. She was having endless tears streaming down her face. She had hoped this will go well but it was worse than she would have thought. She would have felt better if he didn't take responsibility for the baby than him denying her. So all these while she has been leaving a life of fake fantasy. She spared a last glance at Pharrell, her eyes pleading for him to say the truth but he has an evil smirk on his face, meaning he very well knew what he was doing. As Simon held her hands tightly and slightly dragged her out of the house, she couldn't help but think of what to do.  The clouds had gathered its wrath, the sun was refusing to shine and the sound of the thunder could be heard. Lightning flashed across the clouds and before any warnings could be given, the heavens released it heavy drops of water. It started raining heavily, to the extent that if it was a rural area, the intensity of the wind and rain will have collapsed all the buildings. She had nowhere to go at the moment and no cab was in sight. She has been left by Simon at the gate where she hugs herself trying to get some warmth. Drenched in rain, hungry, and without shelter, she started to walk down the lane to see whether she could secure any shelter until the rain stops. She walked for about twenty minutes without finding any help and now her hunger was making her dizzy to the point that she couldn't walk anymore. Her tummy churned making her regret not taking breakfast before leaving home. Now speaking of home, what is she going to tell Velma. She had asked her to allow her to stay for a few weeks but what happens if her time there elapsed? Throwing the thought out of her mind, she trudged further seeing that a car was parked not far from where she was. Before she could reach there, she succumbs to her dizziness and felt herself going limb yet, she didn't land on the floor as she was expecting but rather landed into a set of strong, comforting arms. Heath's POV. "Thank you Amanda, I will get going now,"  I said to my sister after taking the money she owed me. "But Heath, it's still raining heavily, don't you think you should wait a while?"  There was concerned in her eyes as she spoke. Being her only surviving relative and younger brother, she is overprotective of me and sometimes forgets I am no more in my twenties and that I am a full-grown man. Our parents died when I was in high school and she in college hence she was forced to take up the role of a parent. We were not sent to a foster home nor the orphanage because she was over eighteen and proved capable of taking care of me. By that, despite college, she worked two jobs and made sure I made it also to the college level where I also started working. It was during those days I opened my first club: San Pierre. "Don't worry sissy, I will be alright. There are some clients waiting for me at the club and I do not want to keep them waiting. Besides, it's not raining that heavily and my car is strong enough to take me there. Now chill, I will call you when I get there." "Okay, if you say so. Here, take this umbrella. You can use it to get to your car so you don't get wet. And be careful. I nodded taking the cyan-colored umbrella from her then made it out of her house." I was wrong when I said it wasn't raining heavily but I made it to my car safely and dry yet, I was contemplating on whether to go back or go to work. I was still thinking when I saw some movements ahead. It wasn't clear but it was like someone or an animal walking towards me. I had my eyes fixed on it. As it drew closer, I made it out to be a woman who was taking a step after the other like a zombie. "What? who is this crazy woman? Does she want to catch a cold? Who on earth walks in such heavy rain."  I questioned rhetorically since there wouldn't be any answer. I saw that she was walking that way because she was exhausted and something about her made me feel that I know her. Liana? My eyes widened at the possibility, the woman's body figure screams Liana. And the dress she was wearing confirmed it. I quickly got out of my car then ran to her, taking hold of her before she went limp. "Liana! Liana! wake up wake up, please!" I carried her bridal style then ran with her into Amanda's house.
