Apollo
A loud deafening roar sounds from behind me and my wolf Levi turns around in haste to see what’s going on. Zeus is hurt badly and blood is pouring from his wound. He falls to the ground, forcing a shift back into Emmet’s human form. He lays still with a gnarly looking gash across his stomach.
“PROTECT YOUR ALPHA!” I roar through the mind link. We can't allow these fuckers to harm him.
Wolves jump into action, forming a protective circle around their future alpha. Without both pack leaders, I need to end this battle swiftly. It’s up to me to lead the pack, they are all counting on me. We don’t need any more casualties today.
“Apollo, is Emmet alright?” Athena’s broken voice enters my mind. I know she is worried but her distraction is unwelcome.
“Not now cousin!” I put a block up between us. I can’t afford any more distractions right now.
Rogues keep appearing seemingly from no where. How is there so many of them and what the hell is that disgusting smell? Other than the rogues of course.
After beheading an injured wolf that had shifted back into an ugly human, I take a moment to survey my immediate surroundings. The source of the anonymous smell is coming from a wolf and his fur is blazing with fire.
I dart into action when he begins to run towards the crop fields. He’s trying to kill off our food supply! This must be the reason for the attack, starve us of our resources so we have to venture outside of the security of the pack. They’d pick us off one by one. We would be vulnerable.
Levi quickly bounds towards the water tanks. He releases control back to me as I shift into human form again. I turn on all the irrigation taps to activate the sprinkler system before I instantly shift back, eager to end this s**t show right now.
“EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES!” I bellow through the pack mind link.
Levi runs towards the burning wolf and pounces on his back. We drag him down to the ground and roll the rogue over and over until the flames have been exhausted. Levi chomps down on the wolfs shoulder, forcing him to shift back in agony.
Quickly observing the situation, it looks like the pack wolves have the blaze under control so I shift back to talk to this stupid fucker on the ground.
“Who sent you? What are you doing here?” I demand angrily.
He spits blood at me. “I’m not telling you s**t!”
“Take this asshole to the dungeons.” I command and three wolves instantly appear to complete my request. “Unless the rest of you fuckers want to be killed or locked up and tortured, I suggest you leave now and never come back!” I yell at the top of my lungs.
The bastards retreat and run towards the damaged gates. I survey the c*****e of blood and dead bodies littering the streets. It’s a shame so many lives needed to be lost today.
Oliver appears beside me in all his naked glory. “Emmet is on his way to the pack hospital. They shouldn’t have been able to take him down like that.”
“There’s something fishy about all of this. Burn all the rogues and clean all this s**t up. They don’t deserve a proper burial. How many did we lose?” I ask him.
“Three warriors, two women, two children and a baby.” Oliver reports grimly.
“Fuck.” I run my fingers through my hair in frustration. “I will arrange the funerals myself. Go to the bunker and ensure everyone is alright. I have some interrogating to do.”
“Yes Beta.” He bows his head in respect before beginning his tasks.
I make my way back to the pack house and down into the dungeons. The stairs are slick with blood, almost causing me to slip. The foul stench of rogues floods my senses as I stride into the darkness of the dungeons. Five warriors stand guarding the cells with three rogue wolves inside.
“Well, who wants to go first?” I ask and look at the dirty woman staring at me in the last cell.
Levi yells in my mind. “MATE!”
