At home, I had to confront another issue. Agent 246 was at my house with Aunt Stella; they were handling a critical case and had a lot of work to do. Stella was concerned since she hadn't prepared dinner, so she dashed to the grocery store for more ingredients. And, guess what? I was alone with Agent 246! I squealed with delight.
Then I got a naughty thought.
I decided to take the finest sunbath ever, and I was surprised to see that I had his complete attention. It's an unusual circumstance, but it's exactly what I've been yearning for over the last two years. I decided to ask for his help getting to a spot where my hand couldn't reach, and he surprised me by accepting. This made me delighted. I recollected the first day I met him.
It was October 16th, a cold night, and I was on a mission with Stella. We were in lots of trouble trying to fight off enemy soldiers, and things were getting rough. That's when he rescued us. I got distracted and hurt my ankle because I was unable to continue the fight.
Fortunately, he was there to defend me against them. He wore one of the nicest white suits, and wow, it looked breathtaking with blood spots on it; I may sound silly, but it was really hot. He grabbed me up and murmured in my ear, “Hold on tight.” He then winked at me. My knight in shiny armour.
My aunt spoilt the moment by coming in looking all worried. After that, I never actually had the time again to speak with him.
Until now,
He didn't appear excited as I handed him the sun cream; instead, he maintained a straight face. He simply opened it and poured some into his palm before applying it to my body. He did it very gently, and I observed the slight smile on his face.
“I recall the first time I met you; you look more stunning now.” He said. I flushed.
“'Thank you, and you look even more handsome now,” I said, sounding quite lovely.
“I’m trying to impress a young lady.” He said with a wide smile as he winked at me.
I blushed harder. Trying to hide my smile. I wanted to continue the conversation because I knew it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“So, what do you do other than office work?” I questioned.
“Well, I like watching movies and listening to some songs and, guess what?”
“'What?”
“I love reading romantic novels.”
“Me too.” I lied. I never fancied reading.
“How has the mission with my aunt been?”
“It has been delightful, would be preferred if you were my partner in the mission.”
Wow, he wanted me to be his partner.
“My turn to ask, what do you do other than being a spy?” He questioned.
“Well I love scrolling through my phone, I also love watching movies and listening to music.” Then I hesitated before adding, “I also love reading lots of books, especially romantic novels.” I lied.
“'Wow, we're so alike then.”
“Yeah,” I said with a smile.
“I’m done.” He said taking his hands off after applying the cream.
“So soon,” I said trying to sound alluring while whining simultaneously.
“Yeah…or do you want more?” he said with a grin.
“'Maybe,” I said biting my lips in an attempt to attract him.
He laughed heartily, then he leaned in and whispered, “When you’re older and wiser I'll give you more.”
“'Wow, good game,” I remarked with a frown. I couldn’t risk the conversation ending so quickly, so I let out a very weird question.
“What's your real name Agent 246?” I inquired.
“Woah, that's an enormous step young lady.” He said with a smile.
“I know that, and I'm ready to take that step with you Agent,” I said moving towards his direction with my bikini on acting all enticing.
“Oh, okay young lady, you're adorable and all but I've got to oppose sadly.” He said stretching his arms in my direction to dismiss me.
“Ouch that was painful, I'm so sorry, I screwed up,” I said as I was getting ready to leave. He held my wrist stopping my tracks. I gazed into his hazel eyes.
“No, it is okay. I like you but it is just not the right timing.”
“When is it ever going to be?” I said softly.
“I don't know and I can't wait for it because I’d love to get to know you.” He said as he moved closer to me.
“Then no need waiting we can make it work,” I said desperately as I walked closer.
“Make what work Sil?” Aunt interrupted the conversation. She just returned from the grocery shop.
“We were just talking about her crush.” Agent 246 said sharply without much thought.
“Yes aunt, remember the boy we were talking about before, I've a crush on him.” I lied.
'Wow, then that's wonderful news.” She said with a smile.
“'Thanks, aunt.”I looked at Agent 246 with a sting-eye look but, he just looked away. What a pushover!
“Okay then. Sil, I'll talk to you later. We have lots of work to return to. You can go fix yourself something to eat.” Aunt said.
I rushed to my room heartbroken. I was on the verge of crying so, I decided to grab my phone and, to my surprise, Sal's friend request popped up on my i********:. How he could be so desperate to have me? I taught.
Then the best idea came to my head. I could use Sal as a means to forget about Agent 246 since I wasn't attracted to Sal and I needed to get my mind off Agent 246. I accepted his request and we started chatting immediately.
“Sil, what are you still doing up by this time you've got school soon.” My aunt said.
That was when I looked up my phone noticing that I'd been chatting with Sal for more than six hours and it was already past midnight.
“If I may ask, what are you doing up by this time Aunt Stella?” I asked trying to deviate.
“I just finished the work with agent 246 and decided to check on you.”
What the hell! They were working till this time, who knows what they were really up to?
“Okay then,” I added trying to avoid further conversations. I turned my face to the other side of my bed and I chatted with Sal a goodnight text.
“Good night Sil, I love you.” My aunt spoke.
“Yeah, I need to get some rest,” I said with a grumpy tone.
“'Attitude, young lady.” She said before shutting the door.
The next day in school, I noticed Sal's presence and I noticed how incredible he appeared.
“'Hey,” he said snapping his fingers at my face. “I know I look amazing. I wanted you to continue drooling over me so I came closer to you.”
“I’m not drooling and you look weird,” I said after trying to hide the fact that I was enchanted by his looks.
“'It is okay to drool over me because I drool over you too a lot.”
“'You're a weirdo and stop calling it drool.”
“Yeah, I know.” He said running his hands through his hair. I was just standing there replaying the moment again in my head wishing I could run my hands through his hair too… oh my! Am I falling for him?
“I need to go,” I said as I closed my locker.
“Why? We just started talking bae.”
“Do not call me that and just leave me alone.” I let out.
I can't fall for a player. He's a flirt and the red flags are written all over his face. I'm sure he sees me as a game maybe he’s just having fun, and I'm here falling for his tricks.
I decided that high school life wasn't like how I imagined it would be. I was strolling away from everything, going to my classroom down the hallway.
“Sil wait up, what's wrong we can talk about it?” Sal said clutching my arm as I was trying to walk away.
“Can’t you leave me alone, what the hell is wrong with you? Sal, I'm not a girl you just use and dump, okay? I'm not dumb so don't try to be smart with me.” I said with a loud tone soon everyone in the hallway had their eyes on us.
“I’m not trying to play you, bae.” Sal said calmly, “Just calm down so we can talk.”
“You know what? I think you're just a moron and don't you dare call me bae. If you think you can win me over with those silly cliché lines then, think again. I don't even like you so for your good, just stop trying.” I let out.
I turned to the people in the hallway, all eyes were on me. How could I have created a scene?
I couldn’t believe I was at war with my emotions and I lashed out at Sal like that making him feel regretful. I felt wrong for what I did to Sal but, it needed to be done.
The classes were boring and there was no one to distract me because Sal sat very distant from me. I was about
to feel remorseful but I had to stand my ground. I won't feel hurt for Sal I was protecting myself from any more heartbreak I was done with love.
