Chapter Two: Worst Nightmare Ava (Avery) Rodgers P.O.V: *Dreaming* I awoke to the sound of a woman crying. I couldn't see where she was but I could hear the panic in her voice as she started whispering to someone near her. Lying in bed, I could hear more sounds In the background. The sound of the shower's water running, a cupboard door being opened and slammed shut, then there was a faint sound of a baby crying. I sat up to see what the heck was going on and that's when I saw it. Kneeling on the bathroom floor in front of me with the light on; rocking a baby, was me, crying. I was staring at myself but not me now, me from seven years ago. I took in a deep breath and quietly slipped out of bed. The room I was in, was my old room and it looked precisely the same as it did seven years ago. A broken family portrait sat on the nightstand, bloodstains smeared all over the grey flower duvet cover, and tossed baby toys scattered across the cream carpet floor, mixed with blood and glass. Suddenly the door to the bedroom crept open. "Ava, get up! Ava, Get up NOW!" I snapped. She gazed up at me with fear in her eyes. I stretched my arm out to her. "AVA RUN!" I pleaded. She shook her head as a tear escaped her left eye and mouthed the words 'Run' before the room started to stretch out further. I started running toward her, holding out my arm to her but I felt like I was being yanked back. "AVA!" I yelled out. Then, out the corner of my eye, I saw my worst nightmare striding towards her. "NO!" I screamed but my screams were nothing but a mere whisper. Tears fell from my eyes as I had to watch the scene unfold in front of me. "Wake up! I snapped. The hooded man's back was facing me but something about his demeanor sent cold shivers down my spine. " Wake up!" I screamed. Then suddenly I saw him hold the infant by its leg. Dangling the baby over my head and his laugh echoed in the background. That laugh sounded all too familiar. I watched myself punch, slap and grab the hooded man, pleading with him to let go of the baby but his laugh just grew louder and louder. I tried running toward her again, to help her but it was too late. The last words I heard her say was 'Kill me instead' before darkness washed over me. *Dream Finished* I jerked up out of bed, breathless as my heart raced uncontrollably. I clutched the blanket close to my chest, whilst beads of sweat dripped from my now soaked black hair. As I mouthed the words 'Run', the image of my terrified face was still playing in my mind. Sending cold chills down my spine. "Jesus!" I hissed as I ran my fingers through my long damp hair. I blew out a shaky, long breath until my erratic heart calmed down before plopping back down onto my pillow. "It was only a dream,' I thought to myself. It was only a dream" I repeated. The bedsheets beneath me felt sticky and damp, a few strands of hair clung to the side of my face and the smell of sweat invaded my nose. Which provoked me to let out a frustrated groan in disgust. I threw my right arm across my eyes, took in a deep shallow breath, then tossed the blankets aside. The thought of being in a shower, evident in my mind. My bedroom was generously lit from the sunset that gleamed through the window. Which made my room light up with the colors orange and pink. I gazed out the window for a moment, admiring the view before heading towards the black painted tallboy that stood near my messy computer desk to pick out an outfit to wear after a shower. After pulling out a pair of pink laced underwear, grey pajama shorts, and a white crop top. I threw my hair into a messy bun, put on one of Lachlan's grey hoodies that I had borrowed twelve years ago, and set off toward the bathroom. As I walked out of my room, the smell of butter chicken invaded my nose. I took a few steps towards the kitchen to see if Lachlan was home but the kitchen area was empty. "Huh, he must have gone out for a drive" I murmured as I turned back around and headed toward the bathroom. As soon as I approached the bathroom door, I peeled off each layer of clothing I had on and threw it into the washing basket that stood in between Lana's room and the bathroom. Leaving me standing in front of the closed bathroom door exposed. I reached out and grabbed onto the door handle with one hand and with the other, I used to take the hair tie out from my messy bun. Once I opened the door, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and took a step inside. "UGH!" I screamed as I quickly tried to cover myself with my hands. "WHAT THE HELL YOKIE!" I shouted, attempting to cover my eyes whilst trying to cover my exposed body too. "Oh, God! Oh God!,' I spat, snapping my eyes shut. I just saw your p***s! I just saw your p***s!" I shrieked. Lachlan started cursing under his breath. Panic noticeable on his face. "GET OUT!" he growled. I spun around then jerked at the door handle trying to open it. I didn't even know the door shut behind me. If God was listening right now, I could use a way out of this situation. I can't believe I just witnessed Lachlan jerking off. The image of Lachlan and his hand wrapped around his hard manhood started playing out in my mind. It was starting to turn me on. "NO!" I growled. Trying to force that image back. "WOMEN! GET THE f**k OUT!" he roared, causing me to flinch at the tone of voice he used. "I'm trying!" I shouted whilst jerking on the door handle. Suddenly, I felt Lachlan's body heat close behind me. If I leaned back just a little, I could probably feel his length up against my back. His hand gripped over mine, sending warm chills and tingles down my spine. Then together, we yanked open the bathroom door. Once the door opened up, Lachlan pushed me out hard then slammed the door shut. I snatched up the grey hoodie from out the washing basket, threw it on, and ran into my bedroom. My turn to slam a door shut. "Jesus Christ" I hissed, as I began to pace my room. I threw my hand into my hair, tugging at it whilst trying to block the image out of my mind. I had seen a lot of p***s in my life but none the size of Lachlan's. His manhood was quite large, like the size of my forearm, possibly longer and his p***s was quite thick too. It is f*****g perfect in every way. "Oh, God!" I groaned. I could feel the heat rushing to my cheeks and in between my legs, I could feel myself getting wet. "He is your brother Ava, that's it!" I muttered. Trying to convince my head and my v****a that he is just a brother, my brother. I let out a shaky breath. Suddenly, I heard a loud knock on the door. "Ah, I'm busy" I exclaimed, feeling a little horney and flustered. I tried to push the image of Lachlan to the back of my mind but the image of his p***s. Well, the image of him, jerking his p***s was stuck on replay in my mind. "Ava, we need to talk!" he grumbled. His voice low and deep. "Ah-ok, I'll just be a minute," I replied as I ran over to the bed, snatched up my grey mini shorts I was supposed to wear after a shower, and quickly threw them on. I stood by the door for a moment, adjusting myself before swinging the door open. "Ah-hey Yokie" I greeted with a fake smile. I wanted the smile to reach my eyes and be glad to see him but in reality, I felt like I didn't know him in reality. I had known him my whole life and never thought in a million years I'd be turned on. Lachlan gazed up at me as he leaned on the door frame. He looked tense like he regretted knocking on my door. I couldn't blame the dude because if I was in his shoes, I'd probably look the same. I opened my door wider, giving him the OK to come in. He peeked over my shoulder then his eyes locked with mine. "Ok," he whispered. I don't think it was meant for me but I heard it. 'Look Lachlan-' was all I managed to get out before my words got cut short. Lachlan spun around on his heels to face me. "Ah, hey look,' he said, his voice low and gruff. About before". I put up a finger to silence him. "Yoki, it's fine! It was my fault anyway. I didn't know anyone was home" I replied. His gaze fell to the floor and I followed whilst the awkward silence filled the room. "Ava, say something!" I thought to myself, eyes wandering the carpet floor beneath me. "Say something" I hissed, trying to dare myself to say something but no matter how many times I forced myself, my mouth refused to open. Suddenly, the door to my bedroom burst open. "AVA!" Lana yelled, scaring the s**t out of me. I gazed up at Lachlan with wide eyes. His eyes went wide too before he took a few steps back. "Wait, what the hell is going on in here?" she growled, glaring at me and Lachlan. We both looked at each other then looked at her and shrugged our shoulders. "NOTHING!" we both shrieked, in sync with one another. Her eyes flicked between mine and Lachlan before her eyes grew wide. "Did you- did you just- WITH MY BROTHER!" she snapped. "WHAT!" I snapped back. Her eyes flickering between Lachlan and me again, disgust visible on her face. "Oh, Ava! You could have f****d anyone in this world but instead, you f****d my brother or should I say-our BROTHER!" she retorted. I rolled my eyes. Did she really think I would sleep with her brother? Yeah, I was thinking about his c**k just moments ago but I would never cross that boundary, EVER. I lowered my head, allowing her to say her peace because what am I suppose to say. Hey Lana, Nah we didn't have s*x but I did just witness your brother jerking off his c**k. Oh, and did I mention it's f*****g huge too. Yeah, like that was a good idea. "Ava I'm being serious. You're hot as f**k and my brother is f*****g ugly and retarded. You could have done better, no offense!" she muttered. My ears perked up, unsure I heard what I heard. "What?" I questioned. "He's f*****g ugly Ava. Look at him!" she responded, pointing to Lachlan with her eyebrows. I glanced over at Lachlan and noticed he wasn't his usual self. His face went bright red but his eyes looked almost like it was about ready to cry. "Lachlan?" I murmured. He gazed up at me with a smile, not yet reaching his eyes. "Yeah?" he whispered. "You alright?" I questioned. He nodded his head then lowered it. Suddenly, Lana gasped. "Wait! You have a thing for Ava don't you?" she snapped before she gasped again. "Aw, man! I thought you were gay but really, you were holding out for her" she laughed, making Lachlan's face burn a brighter red. "Wait! What?" I questioned. Lana threw her hands up in the air then pointed to Lachlan. "Look Ava!,' she grinned. He has a thing for you!". My eyes flicked between Lachlan and her. Lachlan's eyebrows knitted together. "I DON'T HAVE A THING FOR HER!" he snapped, making Lana laugh louder. "Yes you do,' she said teasingly. You like her!" she laughed. Lachlan threw his hands into his hair, tugging it. "I don't have a thing for because I am gay! been gay for a long time" he let out, frustrated. My eyes grew wide. "Huh?" I said, confused. "Ava! Your good looking, Yes! but you are not my type and I am being honest" he retorted, pulling out his phone and showing me his browser history, proving his point. "I am gay. I just- I never!" he said, embarrassed. "Aw!" I laughed, wrapping my arms around him. "Yokie! It's ok! Though, I kind of wish you had told us sooner" I smiled. His arms enveloped me, returning the hug. I pulled back a few seconds later. "Hey, question. Why did you go silent when Lana said you liked me?." I queried, locking eyes with him. I glanced over at Lana whose arms are now folded waiting for an answer. Not quite convinced that he was telling the truth. "I went silent because I was afraid to tell you guys. I tried coming out of the closet years ago, in our teens but I was shut down by everyone, even Lana. Don't try to lie either, Lana! Oh! and those late-night drives I took by myself. Yeah, I was driving to meet up with my boyfriend, James" he ranted. I stood there, my mouth gaped open, stunned. If Lana didn't believe what he was saying was true, I sure did. "A boyfriend?" I replied as if that was the only word out of the whole sentence I heard. "Yes! James! I have been seeing James for about two years now" he replied. Lana's jaw dropped. "Two years! TWO f*****g YEARS LACHLAN!" she growled. Striding towards Lachlan and me. "Yes," he replied. "Lachlan, why didn't we get to meet him? I'm sorry that I laughed at you back then but I thought you were joking around. I'm supposed to be your support and I let you down" she muttered, a tear about ready to fall. Lachlan pulled her in to hug, smiling from ear to ear. "It's ok sis" he smiled, as he tightened his hug. I felt a sense of pride and joy wash over me as I watched these two hugs. Even I could feel a tear wanting to fall from my eyes. "Oh, Uh-by the way. I-Uh, I Uh- quit my job three days ago" I grinned. Both their eyes snapped to mine, scolding me. It is almost as if what I said just ruined a great moment. "YOU WHAT!" she shouted, causing me to flinch. She let go of Lachlan so quick that he had almost lost his footing. I could see her face burning with rage as she took the two steps towards me. I swallowed greedily. Yep! maybe this wasn't the right time to tell them I had quit my job.
